Example concepts:

1. Crypto Market Exchange - Fake exchange for top portfolio each month with a winner who gets an award.

2. Monster Game - Anyone remember this? https://hackforums.net/battle.php It was a teaser page when Pokemon Go was huge for about 10 minutes. I still think having some type of monster pet game on-site could be enjoyable. Maybe a bit too childish though, I can't be sure.

3. Gambling - Obviously not for real money but I could add some point system here which would allow additional choices for point-based games. And actually I used to do this on HF about 8 years ago when we did run a points system.

4. Fake Hacking - I could write up pages and scripts and making hacking member profiles or other things part of a game/challenge on HF or even across the web.

Hyper-Efficient Water Filter Developed
Chinese researchers have made a significant breakthrough in the water purification space. This newly developed filter can remove salt from the water up to three times faster than anything currently on the market. They accomplish this feat by utilizing a nanostructure of tubular strands in their filter, which they claim was inspired by the mathematician Alex Turing. The researchers first set out to replicate a model of these tubular strands in 3d, which had not been achieved before this. It had only been done in a 2d space before this discovery. It only happened to be a side effect that this structure was extremely efficient at filtering water. Nothing quite like a little serendipity to give us wonderful innovations such as this. >>Source

The Nocebo Effect is out in Full Force
You all are aware of the placebo effect I am sure; well now, thanks to the availability of medical advice on the internet, we have the nocebo effect. The nocebo effect is best described by Dr. Baiju Shah "[It's] where you have a medication that probably has benefits, but because you go in with preconceived notions that it might be harmful or cause you to have side-effects, you are more likely to experience those negative effects." A team of doctors set out to find some concrete evidence for this. They reviewed patient interactions in thirteen countries with the drug statins, which is used to lower cholesterol. They found that patients in first world countries with easily accessible internet experienced far more side effects than those who were not able to research the drug online. >>Source

North Korea nuclear test site to close in May, South Korea says
On the 29th of April, North Korea provided an official statement providing insight into their decision to close their nuclear test site in Punggye-ri, under certain circumstances. A spokesman on the topic declared that it would be disclosed in public while having South Korea and the United States as honorable guests. As remembered in last week’s edition, we mentioned the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, as a result of President Moon’s agreement with Kim. On the following Saturday, President Trump stated that he would ‘likely’ discuss with North Korean officials regarding the denuclearization of the peninsula, ‘over the next three or four weeks.’ A spokesman for Mr. Kim stated that the president of South Korea provided an official date for the closing, provided by North Korean leadership, which is dated in May. The spokesman additionally cited information regarding a potential invitation from Mr. Kim, where he would honor President Trump and President Kim for a meeting to discuss ‘the process to the international community with transparency,’ regarding the closing. To “align the stars,” North Korea has decided to further the bond between each country, changing its time zone to match their counterpart, the South. Kim’s influence was struck by when he saw the two clocks hanging adjacent to one another, differing in time by only thirty minutes in the peace house. >>Source

Kim says He’d end North Korea pursuit of nuclear weapons if US promises to not invade
To keep diplomatic development steadily flowing, South Korea provided a statement declaring that Kim Jong-Un, North Korea’s dictator, told President Moon that he is more than willing to abandon nuclear arms, on the condition that the United States promised to not invade once the Korean War formally ended. To strengthen the trust between both countries, North Korea has offered to invite “experts and journalists from South Korea and the United States to watch the shutdown next month of his country’s only known underground nuclear test site.” This gesture was to provide a sense of confidence in both countries’ efforts to a reasonable negotiation at the extensively-discussed to-be summit that will be happening very soon. Trump officials stated that they will be monitoring North Korean activity closely and take this situation slowly, ensuring the situation will not come around to bite them. They also stated that a plan had been carefully laid out “for the dismantling of the North’s nuclear program,” supposedly spanning across a two-year period. Included with the plan, a ‘full, complete, total disclosure of everything related to their nuclear program with a full international verification” will also be expected out North Korea, “Said John R. Bolton, Mr. Trump’s new national security advisor.” >>Source

Overwatch Updates!
You dirty Hanzo players will now have to get used to a new ability that replaces Hanzo's old Scatter Arrow one. Introducing Storm Arrows, Hanzo will now be able to rapidly fire up to 6 arrows when using this ability. That is great; however, the power for the arrows are reduced. On the good side, they will be fired at full power. Despite reducing the damage in half, that still has some pretty good potential for players that will know how to play around that and outplay their opponents. In addition, other characters were worked on in Overwatch. Nothing too much to the point where new abilities were added like Hanzo, but some were nerfed. The some of those on the nerfed list include Junkrat, Tracer, and Genji. The source below has a list of the other characters that were worked on so feel free to take a look when you have the chance. The beautiful map of Rialto is now playable too. If you were tired of the same old escort maps, you will finally have the chance to have a change of pace now. Rialto is an area in Italy and in-game you will get to experience the beautiful canals that Italy has to offer without actually going. >>Source

PUBG Disables Personal Item Trades
For an unknown (no pun intended) amount of time, PUBG is disabling the ability to trade PUBG in-game items with other Steam users. Items are still obtainable through the purchasing of loot crates, but if you want to get those sick hoodies and cute skirts for your female (or male if you roll that way) you will no longer be able to visit the Steam marketplace and purchase those. When it comes to Steam, there are two trading methods, which were both mentioned. Trading an item for free, whether it be as a payment for something off-site, a gift to a friend, or to sell on a third-party site. Second, is the Steam marketplace that many Steam users are familiar with. Both of these methods will be temporarily disabled, as once again was said before. Not much information was mentioned when putting this little ban on their item trading other than that they were upset with the community that their users were using third-party sites to sell the loot that they had obtained. The CS:GO skin market is tremendously gigantic, and people from all around the world participate each day in buying, selling, and trading skins for profit. Steam has tried to limit this "gambling" as they call it because of the countless CS lottery gambling sites out there. This is deemed against Steam's T.O.S. which is why the 7-day trading limitation was made when you purchased new items. PUBG creators are trying to combat this too they say and they hope that this limit will prevent any abuse of their own T.O.S. >>Source

Free Legendary Pokemon Available Now For Ultra Sun And Moon
This month's two Pokemon have been released to the public! Those celebrating the Year of the Legendary Pokemon can now add Xerneas and Yveltal to your team. Starting from May 4 all the way to May 24, you will once again need to visit your local gaming store (most likely Gamestop -- EB games in Canada and Australia) and ask for a download code. The code can be used in either Pokemon Sun or Ultra Sun and Pokemon Moon or Ultra Moon. The same rules of redeeming the codes apply. Simply go to the mystery gift option, click the option to obtain a gift via password/code, enter what the digits on the card you were given from your local game store and you are good to go. Depending on the game you own will determine which legendary 'mon you get. Sun or Ultra Sun will get the Dark/Flying-type Yveltal while Moon and Ultra Moon will get the Fairy-type Xerneas. When obtained, both legendaries will have a free gold bottle cap to help you hyper train your Pokemon. One more thing to note is that depending on which game you redeem the code in will determine the moveset each 'mon gets, and what level they are. If you redeem on Sun and Moon, your Pokemon will only be level 60, opposed to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon where they will be level 100. Some juicy news is one of next month's Pokemon will be shiny. Here's When Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Be Revealed
The Black Ops series was one of the most popular series in the Call of Duty franchise. Whether you loved this or the modern warfare era, both times were greatly preferred over the advanced warfare mumbo jumbo that CoD tried for a few years. It has already been shared that the next game in the CoD series will be Black Ops 4. Not much was known about the game, and many videos were created either as clickbait to get free ad revenue, gain subscribers by fooling people, or other dumb things. Later this month on May 17, we will have the chance to see an exclusive preview of the game. Invites will be sent out to fly out and participate in this "Community Reveal Event," so you can probably already expect the popular CoD streamers and YouTubers will be invited to this. Some things hinted in the game was the re-introduction of the pick 10 system and the point system used for scorestreaks. We will just have to wait until May 17 to see the rest! >>Source

Non Non Biyori Anime Film's New Visual Unveiled
This past Thursday, the official website of the Non Non Biyori Vacation movie revealed a new visual art. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, and you can take a sneak peek of it here. The movie will have screenings starting in August at 27 different theatres across Japan. The Tokushima prefecture will be holding an event on May 6 where you can meet the voice actress' for Miyauchi Renge and Koiwai Kotori. If you attend this event, you will have the chance to receive a limited clear file. Sales of tickets for the movie will start early starting this month on May 19. Those who purchase a ticket early will have a chance to get the clear file of the first image linked earlier in this article. The story of the anime will take place during the Okinawa Trip Arc and definitely sounds like a summertime event you do not want to miss out on! >>Source

Princess Principal Announces Six-Part Film Series!
Princess Principal is an anime that was produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas. Coming next year in 2019, the anime will have a six-part film series. During a live event by the name of, "Princess Principal STAGE OF MISSION" the announcement was made of the six-part film. During the event which occurred on Apr. 29 at the Maihama Amphitheater in Urayasu, Japan, a key visual was also released during the announcement. If you were unable to see the Princess Principal STAGE OF MISSION event, you will be able to purchase it this Nov 22. Purchasing the blu-ray copy of the Princess Principal STAGE OF MISSION will give access to an exclusive look at the of the movie series. The original series of Princess Principal is described as, "At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen's Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. Under the guise of regular high school girls, they act as spies under cover. Disguise, reconnaissance, infiltration, car chases... Each girl uses their own set of special skills to dart around the world of shadow." Rise and Shine with Rin Shima's "Laid-Back Camp" Alarm App
Everyone already knows that Shimarin is the best girl in Yuru Camp. This application just proves it. If you want to wake up to your beautiful waifu, Rin, you can just do that with the brand new smartphone app. The alarm features over 100 different lines to wake up to. You can have the option to repeat the same lines over an over again or have it randomly try and wake you up with something aggressive like, "I'll turn you into rust on my blade." For now, it is exclusively for Japan only. Sorry for you weebs. The price of the app is 720 Yen which is around $6-7. For an additional $2-3, you can add more custom lines to the app too. The pictures on the app alone make you want to laugh. If you enjoyed Yuru Camp, which aired during the 2018 Winter Season, then you can agree that this app is hilarious. >>Source
