And so I left Poloniex.

In all honesty I didn't wanna make this thread, but I felt the need to warn the new users about this exchange and point out the issues that I've had.

In the beginning I had no issues. Everything was smooth, but why? Because I only traded until I reached an amount worth withdrawing. I never submitted a ticket or requested a verification up until 1 month ago. That's where I saw their true faces.

I have waited over 1 month just to get verified and around 1 month for a ticked.

I have waited another 2-3 weeks when they had issues with BCN. I have one frozen account that they won't verify for god knows what reason and now they banned my IP. I don't know why, but they did.

I've had my fair share of Poloniex, so I switched to Binance. I don't know a lot about it but at least I got verified there in under a week.

My advice: Never trade on Poloniex unless you truly want to risk your investments.

My SIACoin withdrawal from almost a year ago is still pending. They never reply to the tickets in time and now they just made the worst update ever.
I hope the owner gets sued for this change.. So yeah fellas Poloniex is one of the WORST CRYPTO EXCHANGES ever this world faced!
I never going back there aswell!
Another HF oldfag..
Lmao people are still trading at poloniex? Because the best way to lose money on bear markets is to keep trading on the less liquid exchange

Poloniex died when the trollbox was removed, end of discussion.

Honestly, I found them back in the day when I started trading and the reason I didn't move my money all this time was because I was afraid. I have heard a lot of bad stories, like people not getting their funds and stuff, so I stuck with them. But today was the day I ditched them. I honestly think there are flaws in their system and that they can be sued for a huge amount. Obviously I can't do anything since I don't know how that works, but I hope someone smart sues their asses for all their worth.

I'm not sure with everyone else's experiences; but here's mine.

I withdraw weekly over $50,000 USD from Poloniex and also deposit weekly over $50,000 USD. (Clearly same money moving it around - some profits).

I have yet to experience any Delay, issues, or account bannings/closings.

Then again i've been verified since 2016 and have had the pleasure of not having to deal with any support tickets thus far.

I've read plenty of bad stories and issues; but then again who's going to post about their experiences when it's working as intended. You're only going to find the horror stories, not success.

Also most of the time it's a user error issue; not saying this is your case, just most of the stories i've read it's of some idiot sending one Crypto to a different wallet or missing a letter in their copy paste of wallet address etc. Not really much they can do; but i have seen some success on Poloniex's end on recovering some of these 'lost' funds.
Polo was bought by Circle. Game over.
It was the first exchange I used.
Still have my account there verified and no issues but left them months ago and moved to binance and bittrex.
Had about 1.5k in usdt held in poloniex when suddenly few weeks ago they made everybody give id verification and no withdrawal ability until you do so.

I verified my id, withdrew my funds and requested closure of my account. Fuck any company who suddenly pulls that crap on its users.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

All those links are over 6 months ago (even before Circle bought Poloniex) what else do you want them to do? Perhaps call your mom as well to confirm that you are up-to-date with the financial instituations you are using?

Its an american company, they need to enforce KYC laws sooner or later for their own safety, you should've known that before registering there

Yes a call to my mother wouldve been great.

At what point did they announce in "Q1" the specific date?

FYI, I had verification submitted for my account long before they froze the accounts, but they didn't verify it, and froze the account instead. It's still over 1 month and nothing.

It's most people's fault for not verifying their accounts, but it's not their fault that they have a lack of customer support and can't handle tickets in a given time frame.

I'm so glad I avoided that exchange, when I heard they started demanding ID verification and locking peoples funds I felt like I dodged a major bullet.

So you waited 5 months after they made their announcement and submitted your verification 1-2 weeks before they started freezing accounts? And you still blame them?

As far as I can tell you had an unverified user in Poloniex for over a year, and you've been accusing them for being scammers since over a year as well. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5629667

I have five questions for you:

1- Why were you using them for over 1 year when you were "so sure" that they are scammers as shown in the link above & in your OP in this thread ?
2- Why would you register in an american financial institute if you don't want to verify your documents (or want to delay it for 1 year+)?
3- Why didn't you withdraw your coins before they froze your funds and moved them to a desktop wallet where you have full control over your funds?
4- If I'm not mistaken, you accused Binance exchange of being scammers as well, why would you move to them? https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id57060569
5- If Binance employees are going to jail for executing Pump & Dump as you mentioned here don't you think you're risking your funds with them as well?
i clicked on this thread and forgot i havent checked poloniex in a while

i guess theyre making you upgrade your account now which is gay. i used fake info on mine a while ago and still got some litecoin in it. is it lost or is there anything i can do to change the account name i put so that i could actually apply.

Polo is terrible.

Also it's a U.S based exchange, the good ole Irs might see your trades one day and if so best hope you payed them taxes.
