Hey guys,

So i've found an old laptop i had lying around, it must have been my sisters, and i cant log on to the only account on it as i dont know the password, i was wondering if there was a way to ether 1) bypass the password, or 2) create a new user to be able to use the laptop (doesn't have to have admin privileges).

Does anyone know a way of doing this ? most of the stuff online are vids saying to download a password recovery thing and im 90% sure it's bullshit and don't want to try !

There are some workarounds available at boot/using cmd. you can't just byepass the pass though.

Correct. Although the best thing to do would be boot into a Live Persistance of Linux and locate Windows' SAM File, then brute that offline.

He can also blank the password using chntpw

You can use a Kali Linux live cd/usb and remove the password.
