I have windows vista installed and I don't either of the service packs, do I need to download & install them before I try to install Windows 7? Also doe's anyone have a link for windows 7 ultimate that works? Preferably a torrent.

And which is the best type of cd/DVD to put .ISO's on (like windows 7)?

You don't need any Service Packs to Install the Windows 7 o/s. At this stage, SP1 for Windows 7 Is In the Beta stage.
I do recommend a clean format and Install the latest drivers via the Manucturer's website afterwards.

Here's a Torrent download for Windows 7 Ultimate, In both the x86 and 64 Bit architectures: http://www.h33t.com/details.php?id=961a0...ndows+%2B7

If you require activation, use the new Windows Loader v1.9 by Daz here: http://www.h33t.com/details.php?id=0f8eb...+%2Bloader

Mothered, you got what he was saying wrong.

He was asking if he had to install SP1 and SP2 for vista before installing 7.

You don't need to install those SP's, you can just do a fresh install, which is recommended.

No you do not have to install any Service Pack.

You can just upgrade :]

Have Fun.. but I like my Windows XP :]

Thanks for the links, downloading now.

So do I need to use a specific type of DVD to burn windows 7 onto? Or will any kind do?

You're most welcome mate.
As long as the DVD can hold the capacity of the file (which In this case It can), you can use any single layer disc, being 4.7GB In the DVD-R or DVD+R/RW formats.

Now because the file Is In Iso format, burn It as Is and boot from it.
I recommend you use this freeware burning tool: http://imgburn.en.softonic.com/

Ah, I already have Imgburn, will use it when it. Thanks for your help.
