N00b rambles, trying to work out my plan of att-hack

👹  👹  👹  👹
Primary Issue:
  • Disney's MyCircle.

  • It limits my wi-fi access to 3hrs / day, cuts me off at 9:00pm. Allows surveillance of all my web history (including this site oof).

  • The physical device is now hidden from me, so I can't just shut it off when I want now.

  • Blocks access to the internet, but not the computer/device itself.

  • Blocks access across ALL accounts on tagged devices

  • Controlled from my stepmother's iPhone

Secondary Issue:
  • Norton Family Security

  • Limits access to the computer itself, but only MY computer account

  • Can't bypass it by using my father's account; the MyCircle tracks both his and mine (because he doesn't use the computer anymore)

  • Controlled from Norton Family Security login (linked to my father's e-mail, which I can access through his PC account, but can't reset the password for some reason)

Goals:
Dealing with MyCircle
  1. Grab MyCircle's IP address

  2. Spoof own device under MyCircle's IP

AND/OR
  1. Figure out the password to my stepmother's iPhone

  2. Figure out the password to the MyCircle app on there

  3. Figure out how to access her iPhone and MyCircle app both IRL and remotely

Dealing with Norton Security
  1. Figure out the secondary PIN to shortcut the "give more time to child" process

-------------------------------------

How to go about accomplishing this.. ❓

I'm thinking putting a keylogger on the computer to grab the NFS secondary PIN, so that would take care of one goal.
Also think it'd be important to grab the IP of my stepmother's phone. Maybe send her a bugged link of some Christmas deals?
Not sure how I'd get the IP of the MyCircle, since it's just a white rounded box. I do have admin access to the whole house wi-fi though through my father's neglected PC account, so maybe I can figure it from there?

I'm open to most suggestions that don't involve anything hoooorrribly illegal.

(Also, if this doesn't belong in this section, I'll move it to wherever you suggest is better ASAP.)
I'll start out with a true story. I had a beater p2 300 my stepmom and kid brothers needed a computer, nothing fancy just surf internet, look at Nickelodeon kids site play a few kids games. Mind you these kids were 3 and maybe 1 years old. Well stepmom isn't in the room as I cruise by to work on some crap I looked over and saw a bunch of porn .. and both of the kids are around the computer. Apparently the 3 year old typed "girls buts" in google, the 1 year old was rather determined to keep staring at the screen, so a few bites were in order. Either way that computer got a second account real quick and tons of parental controls and every site they wanted was whitelisted. I should add that the kids guessed the password my stepmom made for her account. I should add that it literally became a game where I put netcat and went for remote access, and would randomly get on the system to monitor what they would be doing unless their mom was in there with them.

Sounds like your parents are doing the right things, there is some crap on the interwebs. If you are wondering yes I am an old fart, but I once was a kid. For me it was Nintendo/Super Nintendo and the TV that were regulated. My kid brothers are in college now, and have not had filtering but a few times I'd get a call from my parents telling me that one of them is doing poorly in school and to come over and talk to who ever is screwing up. From the story above I sure as hell didn't want my kid brothers to see crap or end up neglecting school or stay up all night playing games, then just be trash at school. You know showing your parents that you can be trusted takes time, but also it's important. None of the proposed goals wise would instill trust. I am rather sure they didn't spend between 50 - 100 dollars to give you some freedoms on the internet but also keep you protected.

I get where you're coming from. But these are the same limitations and restrictions that have been imposed on me since elementary school. It's been over 5 years, and it's still the same shit, just done with different tools of control.

...snip...

my parents have had net nanny parental control software on our desktop for a few years. it's supposedly the best parental control software on the market. they have this video on their site of these kids trying to get past netnanny and some other control product. the kids get past the other control software, but not netnanny. the video entertains me to no end lol, because these days I can easily bypass it. the stupid thing messes up our computer more than preventing me from doing what I want.

anyway, you could spoof your mac address. the disney thing is probably filtering your mac address. what exactly are you wanting to bypass as far as the norton thing?

How about try and use a vpn or would that not work. I don't exactly know what MyCircle is but I assume it blocks your internet or something?

I understand trust me I rebelled like no other, when I was young. Why not talk to your parents the direct route might be best, the real trick is not to do anything crummy before hand or get in trouble.

if it's getting blocked by mac address then that won't work. otherwise, not a bad idea.
I just went through the product page 138 some odd pages, Norton Family Security also may have to be contended with. I'll update if I find something interesting there. More than likely though OP has an Android or IOS device which has MyCircle on it, so MAC spoofing is iffy here.

I know that Disney's MyCircle works by poisoning your devices through the MAC and IP addresses. On devices tracked by MyCircle, there will occasionally be alerts of "duplicate IP addresses" on multiple devices on one network.

Some sources from 2016-2017 also claim that the MyCircle won't poison its own traffic, so if you spoof a device to have the same MAC as the MyCircle it will take the restrictions off. Not sure if it still works in 2018, but we'll see.

I just need the full login and password to get the shorthand PIN code. That way I can extend my access time to my account on the family PC. Because that function requires entering the PIN, not the full login.

Bypassing MyCircle will give me free access to the internet, but I won't have free access to the internet if I don't have free access to the PC.
I also don't want to use my father's admin account too much in case it's being individually tracked as well.

The VPN changes the IP address, which then leads to MyCircle applying default filters. The default filters totally cuts strangers off from our house wi-fi because of the unrecognized IPs.

Honestly at this point I'd be okay with just breaking the computer out. With my phone (it's an iPhone 6), I can just go elsewhere that has public wi-fi, or go to a friend's house.
From some research it looks like "netcut" may work. Here is an excerpt.

"A way to "bypass" this device is surprisingly simple: Determine the MAC address of the circle, and spoof your machine as it. Since the circle doesn't poison its own traffic, it will allow you through without the slightest complaint.
Hope this helps. (I used NMAP to find the Circle on my network then TMAC to spoof it.) Or you can Netcut to disable the device the network. Or you can undo the ARP spoofing by using netcut to change your Default Gateway to your PC. Might need to be admin. You can also disable IPv6 and make a static arp. You can also DISABLE Circle %100 with Netcut."

But this information is a couple years old so I am not sure if it still works.
You could spoof your MAC address and IP address. I wonder if using a VM on the system would help you any. I know they get different IPs, not sure how VMs MAC addresses work, however.
