I feel kinda ripped off! is there anyone has an answer to this detections? can't even download it ! you have to turn off your browser firewall and your AV on your computer to download it? what is that ??

Detections don't mean anything, it has been trusted for years. We'd know by now if its a virus and the service would've been shut down.

I don't know about that, but the new Windows installer is being detected as a Trojan sins 11-28-2018. My paranoia is to high to trust this. I would suggest to download de openvpn config and use de open source openvpn client for this. The Dev's of crypticvpn need to look into this. Whatever you do, do not trust the CrypticVPN windows installer 😠 I gues you get what you pay for 🤐 😧 🤣 👍 (Jan 3, 2019 02:58 AM)#Skyline Wrote: It's most likely because alot of people use Cryptic VPN as a host for there malware. Pointing there malcious traffic to the servers etc. If that was the case the domain+ip of crypticvpn should be blocked for "distributing" malware not the installer.exe. And why is it being detected sins 11-28-2018 and not before? This VPN solution is around for a while now and I had never had this detection on the installer.exe. Could someone of CrypticVPN provide more info regarding this? Could someone of CrypticVPN provide more info regarding this? I understand your concern and unfortunately the CrypticVPN client has been flagged as a false positive for a while, because the previous coder used some code in the updater that is also used in some malware he probably wrote or copied. While the code itself is harmless, anti-virus will flag it because it's code that's also in malware. I am currently working on a new client but I'm the sole developer and I'm in college while also running this company, so it's taking some time. I hope you understand. If you really don't trust the client, you can also download the open-source OpenVPN client and connect to CrypticVPN through there! Please let me know if you have any other questions! ![]() (Dec 18, 2018 12:18 AM)M0HX Wrote: Probably it's detected as a alwarebytes.com/security-world/2017/09/explained-false-positives/]false-positive[/url]. make sure you get the official download link from the seller/website and nowhere else! 17/65 you must be smoking some good stuff today to claim thats normal |
