Convincing Parents To Change ISP

Hello,
So I live in the UK and the internet that my dad has got is very bad-around 5Mb/s Download and 0.49 Mb/s Upload

how do I convince him to upgrade to a faster ISP because we have a lot of devices connected which are using the internet as it takes around 1 hour to download a 1GB File and while in games I get insane lag.
had same problem, parents only changed it when my dad realized he couldn't watch tv with such a crappy internet lmao
Find a good price and tell him that he is losing money for shitty internet?

that's quite logic answer tbh
RENT THIS SIGNATURE SPACE CAUSE I NEED BYTES TO GAMBLE WITH

You could just somehow make the internet unbearably slow, so your parents are forced to upgrade.
Secretly disconnect/disable the modem until they are fed up with the service. This might allow them to cancel the contract early if they are not satisfied with the service.
Assuming they don't upgrade due to price and they don't care you take an hour to DL a gig I suggest you offer value by either finding a way to pay for the upgrade or offering to do chores in exchange.

You give me the impression that what your parents pay for is not convenient enough for you so you want them to pay more. That's entitlement.
Tell him that hackers look for slow internet due to the fact they have more time to hack you lmao

In reality though just try and pay for it yourself.

Have him experience your shitty internet with something he wants to watch.

Say there's a favourite movie he wants to watch, you offer to set it up so he can stream it but when it plays it buffers nonstop. You explain that the internet is excruciatingly slow.

Or you offer to pay for it.

So I actually had this issue a few years ago, money wasn't so much the issue because I was (still am) making money off the internet I need(ed) a faster connection. Still living at home and being underage (at the time) though meant the internet was not in my name.

Had to convince my dad who was very busy with work and stuff and didn't give a fuck about the speed of the internet to upgrade it. I'm not entitled millennial like my siblings though so I was willing to pay for it. For me it came around to getting him to make that call to do the upgrade.

It took months, but I had hinted enough times that we needed better connection and he had to call ISP for some other reason and it was then that I mentioned he should ask about upgrading internet. Of course as soon as he mentions that to ISP they see it as customer wanting to spend more money. He ended up getting the upgrade and I had already said I would pay. Since then I've been paying the internet portion of the bill, it kind of made me become a little bit more responsible because I started paying the internet bill before I was 18. That's nothing compared to friends of mine who've been supporting their parents for years.

Basically do what I first mentioned, find something to do with the internet that lets him see how bad it is, and from there hand him his solution. If that doesn't work, cough up some money and pay for the net yourself.

Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.
Thanks Everyone, I'm gonna try and slow down the internet as much as i can as I have offered to pay for the internet before but he doesn't want to switch until the contract is over in like 8 months as I think you have to pay a leaving fee. The only problem is that our router is from sky and doesn't have QoS therefore I will have to probably DOS attack on the network using Kali Linux and a wireless adapter. Does anyone know how to just slow it down without de-authing everyone continuously?
Just need to convince them. Say that you will pay the difference or something for a few months.
