How can electricity/light/waves contain information ?

Well it's all in the title, I want to know more about the very basics of information technologies starting from how information navigates.

How can electricity be yielded to contain information and how can information be read from electricity ?

Same question goes for light and waves and whatever else might work as to contain information. Can anyone point me out where to look for such information?
I can't seem to google the right keywords :p
Exactly what you say, it uses waves.

Electricity uses frequencies to transmit data. Look at how Canbus works or look at bus systems in general.

I know that bluetooth uses radio waves to transmit data.

If you would use a scope, you can exactly see what data does when it gets transmitted.
Google amplitude-, phase or frequency modulation

Thanks for the heads up, checking it out ! :)
Frequency modulation can be interpreted as a binary combination
