Just watch with the companies when you're on the hackerone platform. The companies like to dick people around. Be sure to read the companies in-scope & ToS in case you need to battle for the buck.

Been finding bugs on there as well a few years ago, but it's a waste of time most of the time nowadays.
Whenever a company adds a new domain/scope to the site, everyone on hackerone is focussing on the bugs within their field of expertise. Some are good at XSS, some good at SQL, some good at finding authentication vulns etc.

So there's a very small chance for you to even find any major bugs beside design issues. Back when I started with hackerone it wasn't that popular, so it was easy to find XSS vulns on tons of places. Made a few thousands with it, but right now I'm not turning back to that platform just because of the amount of time it takes you to find bugs.

You can be wasting 10 hours on finding bugs and end up with nothing or if you're lucky you find one which will get you that jackpot.

In my opinion the guy in the video is a complete retard for purchasing these kind of expensive things, such as a big ass house and cars. You don't ever want to depend on bug bounties only. So he'd be better off maintaining his normal lifestyle (yes obviously buy any dream car he wants) but not using the biggest part of his money right away.

He should've invested it.

I mean real estate would be smart but cars aren't really assets they are more on the liability end of things. The second you purchase one and drive it, it will lose value.
