I used Archbang a few years ago before eventually using Arch, I thought the project closed down. It was good and simple to use. I stopped caring about customisation years ago though which is what really drove me to use Arch, while I still used it. For the last few years it's been Debian testing with a full DE for clients, Debian stable for headless servers.
When you perfect a minimal system from the ground that doesn't have any packages preinstalled and harden it, it is very satisfying. It soon loses it's novalty though. I like being able to replicate systems and have my scripts work on any of them. I know that if my server is running debian, my install script will handle everything. If I were using a mix of Linux/BSD systems it would only make life more difficult.
Pink Floyd is one of my many addictions. I'm sorry but I'm a free member and thus, I cannot give rep back to you kind folk who have blessed me with your presence.
