How extroverted are HF members, do you talk to strangers and strike a conversation?

How do you initiate a conversation with strangers? |

This is my job day to day, often times trying to find a time to insert myself into the sale without being shut down with the "just looking" response. I've done it for 11 years and seen many people fail at improving their approach. My one rule. Observe.
Observe before you speak, use observation to stimulate small talk into a further conversation, whilst maintaining a "genuine" false interest in them. Yep.
Find common interest with strangers.
Or if that's not possible, start the small talk (eg. about the weather or politics). Those two will work in most cases.
It depends, I don’t normally walk up to random people and start talking, but I try to tell people Hi that I make eye contact with. I use to hate people, but I find myself to be somewhat outgoing now. If you’re doing something near someone and want to start a conversation just try and talk about a topic that y’all can both relate to, whether it being a product you’re both around or something of that sense
I don't say much, but if I have to... I just say " HI, HOW THE HELL ARE YA "
Why would you need to talk to a random stranger unless you have something to ask them or say to them to begin with? I mean, if you're on vacation or travelling, you might ask for a stranger for the time, suggestion on restaurants, things to do etc.
If you go on a cruise for example, a lot of people just beginning feeling comfortable with each other because they see them daily and you can interact with simple gestures like hello, how is your day, good morning, shit like that.
