Hi!

I have TP LINK TL-WN722N and I am trying to change the MAC address through Kali Linux terminal using:
Ifconfig wlan0 down
Ifconfig wlan0 hw ether XX:XX..
Ifconfig wlan0 up

No error message is being displayed so should be working... But when checking again Mac address is not changed. I also tried with macchanger - r and I get the error that Network driver didn't actually change to the new MAC ! !

Does anyone know if this adapter has any restrictions to change Mac?, is there any other way this can be solved?

A. Is it in monitor mode?
B. What is the full command you are using with macchanger?
C. Have you tried manually editing /etc/network/interfaces?

I think 2 or 3 version not work for him 😁 best chipset 1.X version.
