Not sure if this is the right section.
Is there a way to move your OS from the HDD to a new SSD without having to do a whole clean install? Not sure if this is possible, I'm just wondering to see if it can save me time from just having to set everything up again. It's not a big deal if not.
This is possible.
I didn't do it but I'm sure there is software to do this exact job.
I personally prefer a clean install. But if you just want to do a clone between the two. Look into Samsung Magician or Acronis. Whoever makes your SSD, most likely also has some sort of cloning/imaging program already you can use.
Clean install is the best way in my opinion, however if you really need to do it, I personally used EaseUs tool to clone HDD to SSD, it's free and easy, take a look

Don't you need to get another windows key?

Don't believe so. Windows 10 atleast should have the product key attached to either the email account if you use an online account or what Microsoft calls "digital entitlement". During the initial installation your computer sends out to Microsoft information about the hardware on the system + product key. Changing out your HDD/SSD shouldn't prompt to activate Windows again. If you change out your CPU/motherboard it probably will ask to reactivate.

No. Windows can be 100% legally transferred from one hard drive to another within the same personal computer.
The best thing to do in this situation is to use cloning software like Acronis True Image. You pretty much create bootable usb/dvd with it and then boot into true image and clone the HDD to the new SSD and everything will migrate itself.
Use Disk imaging tools like Clonezilla (Open source) ,Acronis true image,Macrium reflect take the full backup and restore
