Best on the go Storage? (External HDD, SSD, USB)

A lot of people build NAS to have access to big storage that they own and I se that as a really good solution of cloud storage but your own.

But what about having storage on the go? Where lets say you need to have storage and be able to physically move it around? - saying this cause in some areas you might not have access to internet.

What will be the best long term option with most cost effectiveness and speed?

I prefer a high-quality external SSD, ideally with Type-C and USB 3.0 options. Currently, I'm still using 1TB and 2TB 2.5" SATA HDDs that I carry everywhere.
I return rep and ql

I do think SSDs are the best option and they are small enough too with less weight. But it's expensive than HDDs. I currently have one external 2.5" SATA HDD for my setup.
NVMe is the way to go, although they can get very hot depending on your enclosure, storage size and speeds.
Im going to cop a 3U 16 Bay 3.5'' 12Gb/s SATA/SAS Dual Controller JBOD in the future. And fill it up with 30TB Samsung SSD's that r/w at a rate of 1000mb/s.

SSD's are the way to go for fast storage but if you care more about volume (space > speed) then get HDD's.
Each SSD will cost me around 2.5k PER SSD brand new as they're corporate level SSD's designed for farms pretty much. I plan to fill it up.

The rack its self will cost around 2-2.5k and I plan to upgrade it more.
