What is causing the input lag on my PC?

My mouse is lagging at times when trying to move it. The problem definitely gets worse when I open more programs (RS clients mainly), but I'm on Destiny right now with barely anything else open and the lag is still happening a bit. It's not a huge deal on RS but for any type of pvp this is going to be an issue. My PC is also shutting down (not fully shutting down but going into the "protection mode" or whatever to prevent overheating) because my GPU is slowly getting hotter as I play games like Destiny. I guess I probably didn't put proper cooling when I built it. Haven't done much intense gaming, only OSRS, so haven't really ran into problems until now.

These are my specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x 6-core
GPU: AMD RX 570
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000
PSU: Corsair CX Series 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified
Motherboard: MSI B450M Gaming Plus
Mouse: Roccat Kone XTD (I think it's a PC issue)

Not much cooling at all other than a small fan (idk size) and another 120mm fan that I installed. My case is also very small because I wanted a tiny build, might be time to upgrade that because I'm sort of regretting this one.
Hello buddy,

Be aware that cooling is a real important variable when you build your computer, even more when it's a tiny build.

You should take a look about the temp your PC is when you are gaming and in idle. You can use tools such as HWMonitor.

Please answer all of that in the order :
-What's your case to see if we can change some fans ?
-Did you keep the original CPU Fan of the Ryzen ?
-How long did you own your computer ?
-Have you well applied the thermal past ?
-Have you ever changed the terminal past ?
-Can you go to the event viewer when your computer is shutting down, and copy/paste errors related to it ?

1. Case: https://www.amazon.com/ROSEWILL-Computer...131&sr=8-2

2. The CPU fan? Yes I forgot to mention that when I was listing all the fans, I do have that installed as well.

3. Only about half a year. Built this cheap-ish build because I fried my old one trying to OC for the first time.

4. Yes I believe so, this was my 2nd build so I knew not to add too much. I guess it couldn't hurt to take the fan off and reapply everything.

5. No

6. I'm looking at it now, are the errors under windows logs? If so there's a few options that show logs: Application, Security, Setup, System, and Forwarded Events. I'm not sure which to look under.

EDIT: My CPU shows 140 Fahrenheit on HWMonitor and 229 on Speccy... I'm not sure if it's right. I always assumed that speccy wasn't because I think it would destroy itself right?I have monitored my temperatures when playing Destiny 2 and I noticed my GPU was slowly going up until it was too hot I guess and it went into the protection mode.

Do you think I should just switch cases? If so can you suggest any similar small cases for micro ATX motherboards? Money is not an issue if I like the case (not $200+ preferably)

EDIT2: Idk maybe this isn't good?

Also, is this normal for a GPU?

both 140 or 229 is really bad is your fan even plugged in? I’ve never seen those numbers before. And is that gpu graph when your computer on idle or in game? Both your gpu and cpu temp readings look way too hot something is wrong with your cooling.

Yeah both fans are running, the small one and the 120mm one. Idk I guess I should probably switch cases. GPU is like that with or without game running, not sure why :/

Switching the case isn't going to fix my GPU problem though I don't think, so I need to figure out what's wrong there. It's at 56 degrees right now and jumping from 0 to 100% utilization. Perhaps the power is the problem? It's also jumping 50W-115W and according to a quick google search it's supposed to be close to 300.
that gpu temp is fine tbh but yea the cpu looks like its overheating from the pictures you posted, try dismounting it and cleaning it than apply new thermal paste
My CPU/disks are spiking as well when I check performance tab in task manager. Idk what's causing any of this

this might be normal it turns out, idk, but im still getting input lag with my mouse. not sure if it's the heat causing it or what idk anything about computers
