Connect 4 screens to alienware 17r4 ?

Hello everyone,

I've recently bought a brand new Alienware 17r4 laptop, atm i'm still using my tower PC connected to 4 24" screens using displayport (My 1060 has 4 displayports outputs).

I'm thinking about giving away my tower PC to some family member but I'd like to know how I could connect my alienware laptop to these 4 screens ? Has anyone faced the same problem ?

The laptop ports I can use are :
- 1 USB Type-C
- 1 Ports Thunderbolt 40gbps
- 1 Displayport
- 1 HDMI

What are my best options ?

I was thinking about buying this : https://www.dell.com/fr-fr/shop/alienwar...rdinateurs Like I could plug my 1060 in it and then connect to the screens ?

Thanks for anyone who's willing to help me find the best solution ! :)
Honestly if you have a thunderbolt dedicated plug and a USB c dedicated plug i would just get a USB c and thunderbolt dock and run your display sources from those docks. You can use the 4 monitors whenever you plug into the docks.

I'd imagine anything beyond directly using the DP and HDMI port will have slight latency additions.

You should be able to buy the egpu dock and then use that for the 4 monitors.

a bit overkill

@OP, you prolly only need the usb-c port. Read this https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/...t-19794757

Well yes could be good, the egpu dock is like $100 - $150 cheaper than the usb-c thing from dell, as I already have the GPU I think i'll buy the EGPU dock because its cheaper.

I'll update with a pic when everything is plugged 🐱‍👤
