What do you think of Medicine Doctors?

Hey. I'm from Venezuela and people for some reason use to respect Doctors over here. I don't know if it is a 3th world country thing of it happens around the world. What do people usually think about Medicine Doctors there where you live? Are they at the same level as all the other professionals/working people (as it should be), or do they represent something close to an authority?
I used to sell nice stuff on HF.

These days all I can offer you are my services as a software engineer and as a Spanish teacher. The later is a hobby I still enjoy.

Pm if interested.
Here it's pretty much just like any other profession. Your knee starts hurting, you go to a doctor, he checks you out and helps you. That's it.

As it should be. What country is it? USA?

If you're a family doctor then not a big deal, but if you're a popular surgeon or something, then it's a pretty big deal. Doctors should be respected since they spent half of their life studying and taking different specializations. You have a huge responsibility as a doctor and that's what I actually respect the most about them, staying calm while saving someone's life.

It really depends on what kind of docter you mean specifically. The run of the mill family doctor will know a little bit about every common thing, but as soon as it gets beyond something common they'll refer you to a doctor who specialises in the field. It can be a bit of a hassle I suppose but I do believe it's the best system.

They study the same time and a good family doctor can prevent you to need a surgery in many many cases.

In my country, they don't study the same time. Four years is the normal thing for both, and that's when family doctor's education stops, while the surgeon for example needs 4 more years (total of 8 years). I mean, I respect both of course, it's not easy.

I understend. Here in my city, it is 7 years for general doctor, and 3 more for general surgeon or family doctor. Also Medicine intern, for example.

in the country I'm currently residing at, they have a whole different mindset. They focus on treating something rather than curing it, because there is more money to be made long term, also due to health insurance being somwhat of a standard.

In my home country the doctors focus more on curing rather than treatment and their medicine proves more effective.

What kind of medicine? I don't respect doctors as a whole, but each doctor on a different level. Anyone can be a doctor. Most are dumb.
Curse you, Bayle! I hereby vow! You will rue this day! Behold, a true Drake Warrior! And I, Igon! Your fear made flesh! Solid of scale you might be, foul dragon … But I will riddle with holes your rotten hide! With a hail of harpoons! With every last drop of my being!
I used to like them, but I think with insurance companies and their strict policies, you don't really get that 1v1 that you used to have with your doctor.

I'm barely in there for like 5 mins and that's it lol.
🚀 Signature space for sale! PM me if you’re interested.

Same here in Aussie.

It all depends, really, because there are so many of them that take their profession very serious and listen to patients. Whereas there's also the handful scattered about that will listen to you for a minute or two and write you a prescription so you get out and they can move on to the next patient, and the cycle continues. That's at least the way it is here, and we generally respect our doctor's orders in our later years, often rebelling in our younger.
