Quote:After 2000 years has passed, the ruthless demon lord has just been reincarnated! But his aptitude at an academy for nurturing candidates for demon lords is, “inept”!?
Having the capability to destroy humans, elementals, and gods, after a long period of countless wars and strife, Arnos the demon lord became sick and tired of all that and longed for a peaceful world, so he decided to reincarnate to the future.
However, what awaited him after his reincarnation is a world too used to peace that his descendants became too weak due to a huge weakening in magical powers.

This anime is also called: Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e
It's highly recommended to keep your posts in spoilers, but there is no way to enforce that since this is a discussion thread and anything goes. Don't get upset if you read something and you aren't up-to-date with the current episodes.
As for me, I shall use spoiler codes for the first three episodes. After that, I will not use the spoiler code anymore.
My discussion of the first episode!
I can see this anime having mixed reviews overtime. It definitely did for its start. I enjoyed watching the first episode. The story was a bit slow but the content within the first episode was entertaining. There were a few bits that were boring like the ending fight scene with Anos and the current demon lord, but in the end, we were able to see some of his true magic.
The anime isn't labeled as a comedy anime but I did laugh throughout the anime and I know I'm not the only one. After watching this episode, you can for sure label this anime as a "How Not to Summon a Demon Lord" competitor. The main character is an overpowered demon lord with the ability to massacre a million people with the snap of a finger (literally). Additionally, we don't know the other girl yet, but we'll soon be introduced to her, the main character is accompanied by two female companions. There is no indication of ecchi, however. But that's good. I am not interested in that and I think it will ruin the show. If anything, there will be small fan-service scenes like an undressing scene or maybe a swimming episode since the anime takes place at a school. Yeah, it's a magic school but come on its summer season and there has to be a beach scene or something, right?!
Misha was pretty cute. I wouldn't classify her as a kuudere but she has that generic no emotion voice. Despite that, she's already on the road of being the waifu of the show. We have yet to see Sasha but from the MAL list, it looks like she is her sister or her cousin. I am going to assume Sasha is Misha's cousin because in this episode Misha brought up having a sister.
We as an omniscient viewer already know that Anos is the reincarnation of himself and he's looking to wreak some havoc on the world he was reborn in. However, times have changed and as the synopsis states, people are more peaceful. I guess when he was around as the leader things were crueler.
I'm not sure where the story is going to go. Will it go as far as Anos graduating the school and taking his place as the demon lord again? I don't think so. I think we'll see his life as a student as he adjusts his life to the new world he's living in.
I am looking forward to the next episode. If you like:- Isekai
- Magic
- Overpowered character
Then you'll like this. It will most likely be generic as f*ck, but let's enjoy it, why not.

Episode 2.
I enjoyed the second episode. We are finally introduced to the second girl in the artwork photo of the anime, Sasha, also known as Misha's older sister. Unlike Misha, apparently, Sasha is a purebred demon or something like that. Depending on who your family is will determine what group you are in. Misha and Anos wear white school uniforms as opposed to the other students who have red and black. You might be wondering why Misha is wearing the white uniform if she's from a noble family, well I believe she mentioned that she and her family chose that group for her.
Once again, Anos showing off how strong he is, even embarrassing a teacher. There is a thing called a zecht, which I believe is some sort of contract that is followed between two people in a "duel." It's pretty much a wager where whoever loses has to do what the winner says.
In the next few weeks, a team competition will be held and one of the leaders is Anos, and how he got there was creating the zecht and winning the wager. This is because those in the white uniforms are mostly looked down upon and aren't given the same privileges as the other students.
Again, we see Anos' amazing, plot-armor strength in the practice competition match against Sasha's team where Anos defeated them all by himself. The CGI in the fight was disgustingly awful and I'm sad my eyes had to witness that.
From the looks of the next episode's preview, Sasha, even though losing the zecht (contract) and having to be a part of Anos' team, I feel like she'll be using him for something else. What that is, I don't know. She gives him a kiss at the end of the episode and it had me thinking that she and her sister will both fall in love with Anos, but I also had a suspicion that she might be doing it to plot something. Maybe because she was embarrassed so much from losing to a "nobody."
Nice, i just finished watching the ep1 and ep2, the anime is fast phase but still good for my taste, the animation has this weird cgi, not sure if it is cgi tho, im not that good reviewer

Yes, I agree. I noticed it mostly in the second episode, though, with the fighting scene between Anos and Sasha, where Anos lifted up the castle and threw it. It was just weirded, especially how it bounced and everything.
Episode 3.
It's interesting to see that no one believes Anos is the demon lord. I mean, it makes sense because he's just a random dude who appeared out of nowhere and is incredibly strong, however, his magical ability and intellect should at least give a hint that he's telling the truth.
In this episode, we learned that the current demon lord has created seven followers or something like that using his blood, and they act as the deans fo the school. One of them being Ivis I think his name was. He is there for a special lecture to teach the class about entry-level magic. Of course, Anos being the real, official demon lord, he already knows how to do it.
During the encounter with Ivis, Anos tells him that it's been a while since they see each other. However, Ivis has no memory of who Anos is. After using a special spell that allows Anos to look inside the mind of someone and recollect their memories, he notices that someone else changed history and changed the real demon lords name.
This adds mystery to the anime and I'm sure the episodes will lead up to eventually discovering who altered this time in history. I'm going to assume it's the current demon lord because who else would possibly do it.
Sasha finally joins Anos and Misha as a team, and their first test is to explore a dungeon. It turns out that the dungeon is Anos' old castle. And of course, he knows the ins and outs of it. Lying at the bottom level of the castle lays a rumored scepter, but is then proven to be true that there is one when Anos leads Misha and Sasha there.
Additionally, we should have already expected it from the preview of last week's episode and the title of this week's, but Sasha was up to no good and she betrays Misha by stabbing her in the chest, literally. I'm wondering why she did this in the first place. She stated in dialogue it's because she wants to get first place on the test, but there is more to it I'm sure. Hopefully, we get answers in the next episode.
Misha explains to Anos that she never existed and after she turns 15 tomorrow (in the next episode) she will disappear. I don't think she'll leave us that easily. I'm sure Anos will come up with something to keep her from disappearing. Looking forward to next week!
Episode four.
After watching the fourth episode I have to be a Debbie-downer and say this wasn't the most exciting episode. However, it wasn't that bad! I don't have too many complaints at all. I felt like the dialogue in this episode was necessary to understand more about the story, and I won't complain about that, but what I do have to complain about is the fight between Anos and Ivis. It wasn't too exciting, however, it's cool how awesome Anos is.
After today's episode, the cover of the anime on MAL was changed to:
![[Image: 108573.jpg]](https://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/anime/1126/108573.jpg)
With that being said, it's most likely to tease us about what is to come next in this anime, as the title of the next episode is "New Transfer Student" or something like that. We'll be introduced to new characters in the next episode and I cannot wait!
In episode four, we learn why Sasha was being so mean to Misha and even went through the trouble of trying to kill her. Additionally, we learn why Misha is a doll. It turns out that Misha is actually Sasha and when Sasha was a baby, Ivis, one of the seven head deans that we saw in the previous episode used special magic to make a "clone" of Sasha. I don't really understand what his goal was, maybe I missed that in the dialogue but maybe it was to create an ultimate power? I'm not too sure.
Sasha wants to have another duel with Anos. If she wins, Anos has to do whatever she wishes, and if Anos wins, she will answer any question that Misha might have. Of course, we already know what the outcome is going to be, and I thought it was dumb. I wasn't even sure what the challenge was trying to achieve. Anyways, Sasha even knew she was done for and predicted she was going to lose anyway. She answered Misha's question telling her she did what she did because she created a spell that would transfer all her memories to Misha, rather than Misha turning into Sasha. Sounds confusing, but if you watched the episode you'd understand what I mean.
Anos and Ivis fight because he doesn't want Anos to stop his "creation." They fight, some dialogue that is in your typical shonen anime, and then Anos defeats him with a powerful sword only the true demon lord can use. It has the ability to resurrect people (Anos already knows how to do this regardless), but what makes this different is that it cleanses the past of the person killed and makes them loyal to Anos. After being reborn, Ivis is loyal to Anos and states that he most likely was killed in the past by someone and had his memories stolen and swapped, which is why he tried to kill Anos, as well as to why he doesn't recall who he is. With Anos' magical ability, he gave Ivis some memories back which is good.
I went back to the second episode where Anos was talking to someone loyal to him and letting him know that he is going to die for the sake of peace and be reincarnated, and I the reason I went back was to see if it was Ivis, but it was someone named Kanon. If Kanon is still alive, maybe he is involved or he was also killed and had his memories stolen when reborn. And on top of that, maybe he is also part of the seven deans.
In episode one, Misha said that the old man that was outside cheering her on when she was entering the school was her guardian and not her father. She and Sasha share the same last name with Ivis, yet they don't seem to look at him as a father. Although technically he created both of them, I'm wondering if Ivis is their actual father and they are being humble, or there is something I'm missing?
Anyways, let's hope for a good episode next week!.
I actually enjoy the MC. For once, he's an overpowered character that isn't a whiny little bitch, or has some kind of <insert generic troupe complex>.
It's pretty refreshing considering most MC's in this sub-genre tend to be very cringey.
Reminds me of Maou-sama, Retry - which is a good thing.
Ep 5.
Taking a look at the MAL discussion board, there are many theories on where some of the characters originate from. It shouldn't be a surprise to us if we learn that some of the characters in this anime are also reincarnations of people that Anos knew in his previous life.
In this anime, we meet two of the three new characters on the updated cover art. Ray and Misa. The last one is the girl on the left in the red uniform. Ray is either a reincarnation of Shin or the hero that had seven different sources or something like that, that whenever Anos killed him, he would reincarnate. Some believe that Misha and Necron are reincarnations of Anos close friend Kanon.
I felt like this episode was a little bit rushed during the school scene at the beginning. The teacher says that the scepter that team Anos found was missing, however, Anos was able to find that it was hidden inside of a student, using magic I suppose, and Anos tells the teacher that she should try harder to conceal that secret. With that being said, it goes to show that since Anos isn't royalty and he's a misfit he is treated with different care than those in the red uniform. But we've known this since the beginning. We already know white uniforms are treated lower.
Was the teacher actually in on "losing" the scepter, or was she completely oblivious? She seemed to have been caught red-handed so I'm wondering why that happened. It gave us the introduction of Misa, but it was a weird one at that.
Misa is part of a club called the Unitarians or something like that. Their official name is the Anos Fan Club or something. It's a group of girls that pretty much love Anos and believe he is the true demon king. I thought the scene was a bit stupid when we were introduced to them but it was a little funny too I can't deny.
Thankfully we get another exam scene. It was the two new characters, Ray, and Misa, and the girls that make up the club. The exam was a bit boring, but they did improve the CGI on the movement of things. The walking castle that the Anos Fan Club made was far better than the castle that Sasha's team made before her joining team Anos.
I like how Sasha and Misha have great synergy. In reality, they are duplicates of themselves so it makes sense, but at the same time, they are their own separate person. I like how Misha is ice and Sasha is fire. I feel like this is heavily looked over. They are yin and yang and they pair so nicely. The part where they combined together and created that icy-fire swirl was epic due to them coming together.
The fight itself with Ray and Anos may not have been exciting but it should have given you the clue way before their fight when they were in the training arena that Ray was someone that Anos might have known in the past.
I feel like this anime is doing good. To me, it's a seven out of ten. I would give it an eight, but I feel like it's missing certain aspects that could make it an eight. I think giving it an eight is a far stretch. Just because Anos is a total badass with extreme power is cool, and he's a total badass, but I feel like the anime is missing something to really make this an eight so far. I'm hoping to see more things out of this anime, but for now, I think the anime floats anywhere between a high six and a seven.
In the next episode, we see that the title has to do with a tournament. I'm interested in seeing what the tournament is going to be like. We already know that Anos is going to excel so maybe we'll see another Ray vs. Anos fight.
It doesnt feel like a generic overpowered mc kind of anime, it is definitely true but it has more to it
Episode 6.
Every week I look forward to watching this anime, and I don't have too many complaints. I think a majority of us can agree that Misha is a wonderful and cute character, and it's awesome that Anos has such high hopes for her. She's been treated miserably ever since she was little, and despite what she is (a clone of Sasha,) Anos still treats her like a human being.
I think their relationship is great, and while I don't see them dating in this anime, I can still hop aboard the Misha x Anos ship. I will say the first half of the episode was really sweet. Seeing what Misha likes to do in her spare time and even seeing that she loves cats, was a nice little experience.
I feel like you just can't dislike Misha. Although I do dislike shy characters with soft-spoken voices, I can tolerate Misha. It's because she can hold her own and she's not weak. Although some might not see her as much considering in fights she just builds a castle and sits in it, she does have her uses.
We meet another member of the seven deans, Melheis. Unlike Ivis at first, he somewhat remembers Anos. However, just like Ivis, his memories are gone, and he doesn't remember that much about his past with Anos. It seems all of the seven deans had something to do with Anos in the past. Additionally, I think Anos will do what he can to have them all come to his side and then eventually take over the fake Anos that is the current demon king.
In the second half of the anime, we have a sword tournament. Other than entertainment, I'm not sure why the tournament is being held. Maybe it flew over my head, but it seems Anos and Lay are going to be participating. I'm not sure why they were chosen. As for Anos, it most likely has to do with the rumors of him trying to become the demon king considering Gaios, and I believe Ydol are the ones that are hosting the tournament. Still, as I mentioned, I have no idea what the purpose of the tournament is.
Lay's mother is dying. He is acting a little bit weird and Anos sends Ivis to spy on him. Lay's speech pattern and the intonation of things do indicate some sort of fishiness in my opinion. While I might be wrong, I am pretty sure the way they are having his seiyuu speak is like that for a reason. I can't be the only one that picks up on this stuff, right?
Next episode I'm sure we'll get two halves of the anime again. Also, we'll focus our time on Lay and his mother who might possibly be passing away in the next episode from the title of it. The first match is between Anos and the Emilia-sensei's brother. Considering that Emilia doesn't like Anos too much, I'm sure she will be rooting for her brother and Anos will just clown on him.
One thing I despise in anime is when they try and re-create an audience. I can never take it seriously, and it just sounds so fake. I understand the atmosphere they are trying to make, but I am going to zonk that and say I was not a fan.
Interested in seeing what happens in the next episode. While this anime might not be the most entertaining, it does help pass the time.
Episode 7.
This week's episode was very good in my opinion. I feel like the people who are just watching this for enjoyment are missing out when I mention some of the things I was thinking when watching this anime. As a person who reviews anime, I think completely different than I used to. I am not sure how to describe it, but the way I judge things now is completely different than before.
I have to say that this anime has a few lessons that it might subliminally be trying to teach. What I mean by this is the fact that Anos is showing that a ruler should care for his people and not judge those despite where their background comes from. As we see in this episode, we learn more about Emilia-sensei's hate for hybrids to the extreme that she might have gotten what she deserved in this lesson. But before that, let's start from the beginning.
I thought that the fight between Anos and Emilia's brother was fairly boring. In general, they are pretty boring. I think that Anos himself is a badass individual, but I think there's more than just dancing around and then one-tapping the enemy. I want more than that. In this episode the end we saw more of Anos' angry side, and this opened him up as an even scarier person, but it also gave us more substance which this anime needs. I feel that it's lacking in this area. Although this anime revolves around Anos being said badass, I feel like the genre where the main hero is strong if there's nothing to back it up. Meaning, if the fights last less than a minute, why bother.
We learn that Lay makes a deal with the Royalists so that he can help his mother. Essentially, doing their bidding in return for the best health care for his mother. I might this very dumb. He knows the power that Anos has, why not just ask him to heal her? Originally, I think in the previous episode, Anos does ask him if he wants to help. I honestly don't get why he didn't take up on that offer. Is he trying to prove something? I mean, he is, but I felt this was so unnecessary.
To an extent, I feel like Misa, and her club is useless. I don't see the point in having them in the story. However, in this episode, they proved their purpose by protecting Anos' mother. I do respect the love and support that they are giving Anos. They aren't kissing his butt, and I feel like their love for him is genuine. (Regarding the fan club -- of course, his mother will love him.)
Eh, still, I think even though they did a great did for Anos and now he's indebted to them, I feel like they should have more to them to make them worthwhile.
The episode was fairly dark. I wouldn't say the part with Emilia and the student was so bad, but seeing how angry Anos was and how he treated her, I felt like I was watching a horror anime, especially with how they animated Emilia's face during the scene with her in the stadium with Anos. Anyways, she did get what she deserved and now that she will be forever a hybrid as well as reincarnate one as long as the spell is on her, I'm sure she'll go crazy and lose her mind. That in itself seems like a hell no one would want to be in.
Well, we will see the final match in the tournament in the next episode. It could honestly go either way considering how strong both candidates are. I'm hoping that they put time and effort into the next episode. I don't want to see a fight that lasts one minute.
Lastly, for those that read this, please do think about what I said. I do feel like this anime is trying to tell us no matter who you are, you should feel accepted. Of course, this has been a message for years, but I feel like people are just watching this for entertainment purposes and are overlooking this message.
Episode 9.
We have yet again, another tournament that will be coming our way shortly. This is the third tournament that this anime has given us. However, the tournament that will be held is going to be in the human world and the opponents, of course, being humans. This is going to be interesting considering we don't know much about them.
It was funny seeing Anos teleport everyone within one second, meanwhile, everyone else has to find their way there. I'm wondering if when everyone arrives, they'll be completely shocked or if they'll skip over that.
Anos explores the town with Sasha and considering she's a very cute tsundere this episode was fun and cute to watch with them together. After that, they head over to the school with whom they will be competing with. This is where we meet the final person on the cover art for the anime, Eleanor.
She takes them on a tour through the school and eventually they head to the library. The whole focus of scoping out the school is so that Anos can learn more about what has happened in the human world in the past 2000 years.
The Hero he once knew isn't the same person he knew 2000 apparently and I'm sure we'll eventually meet him. It's said that he has "reincarnations" of himself, but Anos calls them out and says they aren't a true source. I'm wondering what the meaning behind this is.
