Is it Possible to use a Jack off a USB Charger on a Mains- Supply Plug?

I got a tiny laptop which was the worst purchase I have made in a while. It he a Motorola Entity tablet PC and consisted of a Windows tablet that plugs into the keyboard - it has caused me nothing but issues.

The charger supplied was broken when my kids never saw it and walked right into the wire. Being a tiny, feeble jack, it just bent.

I found a charger that fits it but I can only supply it with a limited amount of power due to the USB source.

I have cut the jack off the broken one (mains plug) and I'm wanting to put the jack of the USB one on to it? The other thing I considered was putting the bare wire into the port and just filling it with solder followed by epoxy resin lol.

Anyway, is it possible?

Some pictures would help, but it sounds like you're talking about a barrel connector?

If so, yes it's possible to solder a new one on. Just make sure the wire gauge you use is able to handle the current. You should be able to find the current output on the power supply, and find it in this chart to get the correct gauge. https://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm.

Also, check that you maintain polarity. Don't leave exposed wires. If they short out, hopefully a fuse would blow, but it's still a fire hazard.

You can probably find some videos on it if you search "barrel connector replacement".
