I have noticed a lot of users initiating contracts with me. Then I receive a pm talking about accept it or send me my money back. Once I message the users they state I’m selling stuff such as vouchers, accounts, & etc. I’m pretty sure there is a multi going around impostering vendors. The price range normally would be $20-40 BTC on a small amount with really nothing to worry about. I think a good idea would be make all vendors (mainly) or upgraded members verify their communication platforms.

Discord, Telegram, Skype, or Jabber(XMPP)?

Option 1: All upgraded members must have a verified discord other platforms. Vendors mainly.

Option 2: In order to post threads in the marketplace you must have a verified discord or trust scan enabled. Maybe certain sections.
Hinting at currency exchange.

I think this could help offsite scamming and random reports on vendors.

People are running around impersonating users without discord linked to their profiles.

You cannot force users to link a social media platform to use the forum. It's simply unrealistic.
If people want to make sure their own name is clear, they should always be dealing via the forum or via one specific Discord. If sellers want to be dumb and not link a Discord, that's up to them.

i think what he means is even if a user is verified you cannot tell as example looking at your profile, no one knows if you verified or not. should be a checkmark or something on profile so people can clearly see if a users discord is indeed verified. same way twitter does it to stop impersonations.

But we already have a rule that you have to link discord in order to share you own.

If a user uses only hf then he doesn't have to do it.

I understand your suggestion but it is impossible to enforce.

That would be like signing up to a website that only accepts Facebook or Google login and having neither of the two.

Terrible idea, i would never link my discord with HF.

If i linked my discord on HF people would just use a same avatar and similar # and scam. Whatever you do won't end scams, people should deal with caution always and should never rush into deals. It's their own fault if they get scammed by a imposter.

All you can do is warn them and tell them they should always check is it really you and should use contracts.

If somebody is being an impostor on Discord, you should contact Discord.

Let me break things down for you. If you want to increase your chance of getting scammed, deal off-site.

If you want a more safe market experience on HF, THEN DEAL ON HF!
