Well decided to re-write this thread a bit. It's now color coded.
The do not fuck with me build, I will destroy you.
I don't give a fuck about being RIGHT at the top of the food chain but this still eats everything in a hundred mile radius
I need to upgrade my PC for a higher-end but still, relatively cheap performance build
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yRg8Rk
$15,093.89 not including the price of the 3090 GPU.
This bad boy has 64 cores and 128 threads,
256gb of beautiful RGB ram running 3200 for peace of mind. (would probably swap to trident Z royal but they didn't have prices)
103.5 terabytes of storage for all your porn needs.
A 3090 GPU for the sake of it, I guess you could go and do older cards as SLI or run a 3080. No biggie.

$4,783.12 (without the 3080 GPU which is about $700)
So what did we do?
We dropped the CPU down to the 3970, still an EXTREMELY respectable CPU - 32 cores 64 threads.
We dropped the ram down to 128gb.
We dropped the storage down to a still fast SSD/NVMe drive and kept 18tb mechanical for 19tb storage.
Changed the case out.
We could also make some other fine-tuning and probably get it down to $4k without the GPU while keeping the same speeds.

$2111.92 including GPU
This CPU was top of the line only a few years ago, it's still my main CPU build. 16 cores, 32 threads- absolute beast.
32gb of 3200mhz as the 1950x doesn't support 3600 or higher.
970 evo hdd incredible speed drive but to cut price down we went 500gb as your main boot drive and added a 2tb storage.
2080 supers - absolute beast cards, still better/equal relatively to a 1080ti.
If you are planning on doing any PC build whatsoever - I wouldn't recommend going for less than this. This would be barely entry-level to anything serious. This would let you comfortably not run into any issues for a long time until you are ready to upgrade further for the more enthusiast crazy kind of builds. In other words, if you are already using a PC and know you want to do more with it - such as spend at least 20 hours a week on it for gaming, youtube and whatever else don't go for less.
