In percentages, how much more performance should I see if I upgrade from my Core i7 8700K to AMD's new Ryzen lineup?
The new Ryzens are supposed to be ~20% faster than the previous generation.

Since the new Ryzen lineup is supposed to outperform Intel (which held the throne of gaming performance for a long time now), at least according to first party reviews and some leaks, you should obviously see a clear gap, especially if you go high end, third party reviews should be out in a little while, stay tuned for them

I'm pretty sure they are talking about upgrading to the 5000 series...

I'm pretty sure he's talking about 5000 series. Which will destroy the i7-8700k, as it beat i9-10900k in single threaded performance.

AMD has taken the lead over Intel in terms of their CPU performance.
Also, AMD said that they want to shed their image as a value brand.
Hopefully the next-gen Radeon cards can go toe-to-toe with Nvidia's RTX 30xx series.
Today's Ryzen 5 5600X benchmark on PassMark shows it beats any existing CPU for single threaded performance by a fair margin. We still have no idea what real world performance will be.

No.
You won't be upgrading to AMD?

I might, but I'm not going to make a decision on a singular benchmark that doesn't tell the whole story.

What are you using right now?
