[HELP] i7 8700K (coffee lake) running WAY TO HOT

ive got a
NVidia GeForce 1080TI                running at 100 degrees Celsius        (recommended max 91 degrees)
i7 8700K (coffee lake)              was running at 100 degrees Celsius   (recommended max temp 85 degrees)

how abnormal is this? i believe my PC came base overclocked.
(specs)

w/Liquid Cooled Overclockable Intel i7-8700K 3.7GHz CPU, 16GB DDR4, NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti 11GB, 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD & Win10 64-Bit

this is while under load, but significantly higher than it should ever be. my case seems to be a choke point as it seems to not get enough air flow, is there any way to see if theres anything terminally wrong with my hardware? does not seem to be getting better.
(under load; playing Call Of Duty WarZone and having chrome on a second monitor while in discord, nothing else)
That's normal with modern Intel processors. Nothing alarming here :)
Be careful or you might get sarge'd

Do you happen to know how much it came overclocked?
Do you know what cooler you have?
What case do you have?

CPUs are regulated to prevent damage by getting too hot. They will down clock and run slower to prevent further heating.

Try taking the side panel off your case to see if that reduces temps if airflow is a problem. Not a long term solution, but that does help to confirm if airflow might be the issue.

even if its running and 100? not just flashing to 100, it of course dropped as soon as i opened it up and took the load off of it
