Why do some avenues, like 43A avenue, have the letter 'A' suffixed?

If I had one avenue, 43 Ave, and another avenue, 43A avenue, what does the letter 'A' mean? What does it stand for, what does it signify, and what is the difference in location versus an avenue WITHOUT the letter 'A'?

Thanks guys!
Maybe a different part of the building than B? Kind of like apartment #1, and #2. Just a guess.

You're guessing? God damn this forum is the literary opposite of knowledgeable! No wonder this forum is so low quality.

#1 You don't know what it means so idk why you are talking shit
#2 Some houses in some neighborhoods are semi-detached aka basement is connected so they add A and B to the house number. Its E.g 123A street st and 123B street st.

It is for an entire AVENUE. Not a house number!
