Really don’t like these sort’ve moves happening, seems like having complete privacy is becoming an issue. Shit like this can snowball into bigger things
Anyone any idea why this is happening? Can’t find any reasoning from Bittrex anywhere
Is this bullish or bearish for privacy coins though? Hard to tell

This is because of FINCEN new policy coming.

If it passes then exchanges will almost surely need to get rid of any blockchain that doesn't have an open public ledger.
Bittrex is imho a crap company. They are even worse than Coinbase. They bend over and take it when it comes to any regulation.
Highlights the importance of decentralised exchanges even further imo. However in terms of price action, unfortunately this kind of news isn't good for holders of privacy coins.
Well I think it is bad publicity for the coins in question. However, why does it matter if you can or can not buy a privacy coin on a centralized exchange? Atomic swaps would completely remove the need for centralized exchanges, or alternatively you could just use a DEX.
Whether I anticipate a short-term bearish or bullish trend is irrelevant to me as I think privacy coins are very important for the cryptospace. They are, and always will be extremely useful.
I honestly feel like many exchanges will do this. Bittrex happens to be the first, but the goverment is deff pushing this to all exchanges.

I am gonna disagree. It might make privacy coins even more rare, create a higher demand, and drive the market higher. What happened when the US Government had prohibition? Did it stop people from drinking, no it did not. Prices for booze was never higher than during that time. Demand drives markets, not regulation.

Hodlers shouldn't be bothered by this news as delisting these coins has been happening for awhile, would like to see how Atomic Swap changes the game.

I think exchanges are idiots for delisting coins because of regulation. They are making themselves irrelevant by pushing usage of DEX. Eventually exchanges will have super low volumes of almost everything except BTC/USD (for FIAT conversion). Why would you need to do XMR/BTC or ETH/XMR when you can use a DEX?
Get your BTC, if you want FIAT you go to exchange with it. Otherwise, screw'em.

This was obviously going to happen as we saw Coinbase say they couldn't list XMR due to regulatory issues. Bittrex is a poser exchange anyways.
Why wasn’t Verge taken down?
🚀 Signature space for sale! PM me if you’re interested.
Someone make a decentralized way to exchange XMR to ETH and boom, middle finger to the old guys in suits.

The FATF seems to be going after the big one’s bc of the laundering going on.

You can already do that. Heck, you can do ETH/XMR exchanging in the Exodus wallet which requires no KYC/AML.
Eventually to get to FIAT you will hit a KYC/AML layer. These new regulations coming (but hopefully not) will require the exchanges to ask you where you got the crypto. I really don't see how that's going to work. Imagine a bank asking you every cash deposit where you got the cash from?

if you need XMR on a non KYC exchange then the Waves DEX is a good one to head to https://dex.wavesplatform.com/
does anyone else have a good DEX exchange they like to use?
BISQ is okay but due to only having BTC as the only other coin to XMR has high fees which I dislike
