I am looking to invest a little money into stocks. I see there are many apps available for that, but my knowledge is pretty limited and I don't understand what is the difference between the apps available on the market.
I have 'Public' on my phone, but there is also 'Stash', 'Robinhood', Acorns' and others...which one is good to start with? Any pros/cons?
You do not want to rely on an app to work when your own money is at stake. You want a brokerage firm that has proper licenses and enough capital so they don't limit your ability to trade when the market becomes volatile.
Any of the major brokers that does not charge commissions on stock trading is pretty equal. There is no "best".

I was looking at the apps as it seems a simple way to start for someone who very brief about stocks or trading. I was also looking to invest $100-$500 long term, without daily buying and selling. I don't know if what I say make sense, but that's why I asked.
Which brokerage firm can you recommend?
long term holdings look into M1 finance. if you want faster ability to buy/sell use WeBull

Also recommend Webull for short term and options trading. I use TDameritrade and vanguard for long term holds and Roth IRA

Start with TD ameritrade. They have a good beginner platform and you can later use their advanced tools if you want to day trade.
Next I would say is WeBull for more risky option trades.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

As usual, Grim and Guardians know what they're talking about, and I also personally use both TDA and WeBull.

I've used TDA and their support is absolute garbage.
I had money frozen for weeks pending withdrawal and no contact from support. Every time I called it was a 1-2+ hour wait on the phone and It was needed multiple times to withdraw my money.

I will agree that the phone wait times are insane. But I've had nothing but positive experiences once I get them on the phone.
I personally would go with TDA for the Think Or Swim platform, I really love it. Support is kind of bad but the platform is worth it.

How often & why may you need a support?
CashApp is owned by Square. It allows fractional purchasing and as little as $1 investments.
https://cash.app/
But I do believe if you're going long-term and you may want a Brokerage house like TD Ameritrade.

I have only ever needed to contact them for things like expediting deposits or wire transfers. And if there's ever a problem with either of those things, it's usually on my bank end, and TDA does what they can to help me out.
In the circumstances listed above, I usually get up around 4 AM, and STILL have 1-2 hr wait time, but as previously stated, the support is phenomenal once reached.
