GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or RTX 2080

Hello HF, so recently I was able to buy an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti from their website, but they sent me a RTX 2080 instead, and I am not sure if I should return it and get the 1080 ti or keep the 2080, I want to use the GPU for mining, honestly I dont know anything about GPU, I already did some research on google and the information I found is a little confusing, on some websites they say the 1080 ti is more profitable and in other websites they say the 2080 is more profitable, which one would you keep??
Thanks in advance, any information is appreciated.

This is the model I ordered: EVGA GeForce 1080 Ti FTW3 ELITE GAMING WHITE, 11G-P4-6797-R1, 11GB 12GHZ GDDR5X

and apparently this is the one i received: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 BLACK EDITION GAMING, 08G-P4-2081-RX, 8GB GDDR6
(I could be wrong on this one but seems to be the same one, it has 2 fans)
I would contact them and tell them that they f:ed up, I'm fairly sure that they'll reward the honesty by telling you to keep it and if there's a price difference (the one you ordered was more expensive) then they might even offer you some cash back...even tho this only happens when the moon is blue...
The "safe" option would be to just keep it and stay silent but that can back fire too if they figure out who has got the wrong product.

So that means the 2080 is better?? 😲😁😁😁
and unfortunately I think I wont be able to stay silent because it was a refurbished GPU from their website (B Stock), and they offer a 1 year warranty, and since its a refurbished card I'd prefer to have the warranty, in case something doesnt work with it I would have problems because the order says its a 1080 Ti and I received a 2080, so looks like I will definitely have to contact them if I want to keep the warranty.

You will at least in theory get more fps in games with the 2080 than what you'll get with the 1080Ti, even tho, you have a point with that warranty, it's something that is really good to have. If you don't have any other GPU then use it and contact them n see what they say. Try to tone it as you would be super disappointed in getting something that is refurbished.

Keep it if it possible . then also NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super is good for mining

But in your opinion the regular 2080 is better than the 1080 Ti for mining??
I would get a 2080 super if I could but I was only able to order a 1080 Ti , and ended up receiving a regular 2080.
That was a mistake on their part. I'd stick with the 2080.

Here are some numbers from Userbenchmark:

Keep it ✌
Keep the 2080. The newer generation offers some pretty nice benefits of the 10XX series architecture. You get equivalent performance anyways and sometimes better in certain situations.

Keep the 2080, it's newer and has raytracing features.

Based on benchmarks 2080 it's much better than 1080. I would recommend to keep the 2080.
You're very lucky tho :D
