Years by years the engagement of users is decreasing in this forum.
I believe bytes is the best thing that helps the user to engage more in this forum if it will use more efficiently.
If we check the HF Currency Exchange section, we will notice there are a lot of Bytes sellers But not that many buyers.
Everything works on demand and supply.
There is no meaning of earning bytes if the user can not spend it properly
We need to add a lot of things where users can spend the bytes.
1. Add Bytes Marketplace. (As Omni confirmed it is coming)
2. Allow user to buy thread sticky with bytes
3. Allow user to buy sales tag using bytes
4. Encourage vendors to support bytes in their services.
5. Add few awards which can purchase directly by bytes
6. Allow user to buy l33t or ub3r by monthly bytes fees
* I can understand Admins need regular revenue to run this forum and pay server rents they cant sell all things on bytes. But they can reserve some percentage of sales for bytes only.
for example out of 5 sticky thread in a forum section they can allow 1 sticky thread reserve only for bytes
And I strongly recommended discontinuing the MyBB and switch to the custom website using the next.js frontend framework.
An agency can do this in few weeks. This is not easy but not very tough as it seems and it will totally worth it.
1. MyBB was best a few years ago. But now there are a lot of good technology available which outperform MyBB in all ways
2. Next.js is best for SEO. And migration can be done without losing current SEO
3. It will provide the best User Experience like some modern websites. And it gives a great feel in mobile as well same as reddit/facebook do
4. Once we have a custom backend. Creating a hybrid mobile app (iOS and Android) will very easy task.
May be app will not approve by play or apple store due to its content and domain name but we can allow users to download our app directly through hf official website. (same as betting website do)
Also, I will recommend allowing some forums to view by everyone (for Guests also). It will get us more page shares and backlinks. And it directly benefits in SEO
