Just built a pc with:
MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i9-10850K Comet Lake 3.6GHz Ten-Core LGA 1200
G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600
I saw a comment on reddit the other day saying how the 1080 ti is a special card, and I have the nvidia founders edition. They mention how it beats the 3060 ti in many ways because of the special something something technology they used in the 1080 ti only and no more after that.
There's plenty of new options coming out on newegg (sell out fast obv) and other sites with prices I can finally afford as a colllege graduate, but I also don't want to waste my time as I mostly built my new PC to trade stocks. I don't game much these days but I would obviously still want max performance out of my system.
Thoughts guys? Is it worth it?
Edit: Intel Core i9-12900K Alder Lake 3.2GHz Sixteen-Core LGA 1700 Boxed Processor

If you can get a new one at retail then yes if not then no.
1080 Ti is a great card still :)

Exactly, the thing is most of these cards are coming from China; aka unreliable. I have a solid edition.
What do you mean at retail?

It's nothing to do with where they're manufactured.
Retail as in retail pricing, a 3080 is supposed to cost $700-$850 but instead, they're north of $1200 due to shortages and scalpers.

I've seen lot's of reviews saying their product came damaged or runs super hot/loud, etc. Absolutely the source matters bro

I didn't mean ALL China cards are bad, but some of these sources from China are sketchy you know.
The 1080 ti is still a very good card by today's standard, you really don't have to upgrade, especially with the current prices, but if you care about ray tracing, and you can find a card with good value for its money, then by all means, go for it.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Go Amd if you want one in stock right now. Nowinstock.
1080 ti is a good card do you have some issue for it when playing?
I'm still using a 980ti which is great for 1080p 60fps. I guess it depends on the games you're playing and your monitors refresh rate. If your graphics card isn't a bottle neck I'd hold out IMO. GPUs are priced way to high atm
