If I haven't said it to you yet, Happy New Year. I hope everyone's year is off to a great start. I can't believe it's finally 2022! This year Akihiko Kayaba will come out of hiding and bring full dive virtual reality to the world. November is a while away so while we wait I’ve decided to reflect on my first anime experience. I got my first real introduction to the genre of anime back in 2020. It was around the start of the current ongoing global pandemic. I saw a video on YouTube which was a critique of my now favorite anime Sword Art Online. The YouTuber seemed to dislike the show, however, I was curious, and having heard about it a few times before, I decided to give it a watch. I quickly fell in love with the anime. I was curious while doing so what people here thought and either liked or disliked about the show 🐱‍👤

ooh, i still have a love for sao. even though its been made fun of a lot now, I remember it being the first time i stayed up all night to watch an anime. still super good imho plus nostalgia. But if u want some more recent isekai's:
that time i got reincarnated as a slime,
mushuko tensei,
ari frueta,
and so many more are so great

edit: also log horizion is pretty similar to SAO by being another video game isekai, but still super good.
