Coming from Javascript to a C language ( Which to learn )

So I have javascript expierence both front-end and back-end..

It has been a few years since I really jumped back into coding but I have "decent" understanding of javascript if I was to jump back into it.. it would take me a few weeks to get back in the hang of things have used frameworks such as react.. But this is mainly irrelevant to the post just a little background.

But I would I want to know which language should I jump too if I am wanting to make things such as "Game hacks" ( Not really), but for what I am wanting to do it would be useful addon, I am also interested in making crypters and tools of that nature.

I am thinking C#, but would love to hear some recommendations and maybe some example projects that have been made in C type languages.

Know there are a lot of intelligent individuals hear and I would appreciate some guidance or any recommended guides that are quality here on the forum, and side question, Visual Studio Code is what I have used previously as far as with JS, but would I mainly want to be using visual studio if I am wanting to use the built in like gui editor, or I am assuming there is some cross-coding between the two applications correct?

As I said sorry it's been probably 1-2 years since I've really coded so sorry for noobish questions.

EDIT: Also sure if this was better to be posted in one of the C categories or just here in the general coding and programming section. I figured this was fine.
There is a big difference in learning c# and c++. C++ is definitely the better career choice but it makes less sense to start with than c#. C# is definitely easier to use.

Okay, well then I'd rather start with C++, if it is currently more popular as far as a career choice, and I am sure if I need to pick up C# for something their probably similar in some ways.

So is C++ overall the better choice as far as making "Game Hacks", Crypting, anything related to talking to windows?

I know Javascript is so versatile now you can call C frameworks to do a lot of those things but I would rather actually know the language y'know?

Yea if you want to make any of that then c++ would be the primary choice as you can do more. The little c++ I’ve done has confused the hell out of me coming from a c# background. Especially Unicode symbols and crap

Alright thats what I'll put my focus into then, appreciate it.
You came in backwards. You should have learned C first before javascirpt. C++ introduces OOP (objects/classes) which is a far cry from C or Javascript. Neither have proper objects. javascript does have what they deem to be objects but its weakly typed so its not exactly the same. (yes Im sure haters will disagree)

What you need to ask yourself is if you want to focus on web programming or desktop programming. Web programming, the field is wide open, go for javascript stuff like ES6 (javascript), WebASM, php. If you want to make apps for windows, linux, or mac desktops, I say move into C# with .NET or C++ with .NET

however, most web software (like wordpress) is PHP based. Other major stuff uses Python (like django) or Dart (based on Java)

Right no I agree with you somewhat... but surely you'll agree with this that javascript is awesome and can even pull in a lot of C++ libraries to be used within whatever application your building regardless besides the point I can build desktop apps in javascript also BUT also beside the point because of course it would be calling C++ or C type libraries which I would rather be able to do like full circle right make sense?

But awesome yeah thanks for the input I think I am going to learn some C++, with .NET I do have the basics of programming down tho from going through a bootcamp with javascript for 6 months 40hr weeks, full stack so yes it's going to be a weird ass shift but I should be able to at-least pick the basics up pretty fast.
