Door dash Rape fees

At the time I am posting this it’s 7:17AM Est
and I ordered some food on door dash and when I got to the check out page 1 biscuit from chick-fil-a
Was $17.83 nothing else added to the cart delivery fee was like 7.99 there not even that far away service fee was like 4-5 anyone else get these rape fees ? I didn’t pay almost 20 bucks for damn biscuit lol I had to go through great lengths to make new account and get dashpass free

My biscuit was only 3 bucks anyone else get charged more fees than the total cost of the food?
Maybe it’s just my town
Yeah, I was pretty surprised to learn that delivery app fees are expensive everywhere. It's reasonable though, there's a real human delivering your food.

My local food delivery app introduced a subscription where you wouldn't have delivery fees for certain restaurants (around 1/3 of the city's restaurants) and it was honestly worth the $13 a month with the first month being free. I wonder if other companies start doing this or are this something you already have in the US?
Well yeah you're paying for convenience, its up to the consumer to decide whether or not they'd pay x amount.

I know DD and Uber have premium memberships but even then Uber started hitting me with a "priority delivery fee" for 2.99 and my food ends up getting cold/soggy if I don't use it since I'm usually the 2nd or even 3rd delivery lol its insane

Going to be cooking at home much more and getting my ingredients from local markets/farmers for sure.

For delivery and service both it's about $8 US where I am. I don't think that's expensive really. But yeah if you buy something that costs $3 it's going to seem expensive. If you buy $30 worth of food and pay $8 delivery it doesn't seem so bad.
Delivery fee's in my area is like $15 right now, even if you're no more than 900M away from the resturant. It's fking crazy. I get my shit myself now, or make food at home.

Yea I've heard about this on the radio, in the US, or on YouTube, idk.
Skip/Uber/DoorDash can have some really interesting fees depending on the region. Its very pointless for us to order from Skip or anything else since all the fast food joints are nearby. Everything is already up in price on the menu vs going through the DriveThru/in store lol.
