DOT staking help?

Hello, guys!

I have recently staked my DOT on ledger device but get different results every day. For example, one day I get two rewards, one day I get only one (which is even lower) -> [Image: sWLuB8L.png]

Do you guys have any reasonable explanation as to why this is happening? Also, how can I see my rewards in percentage? I'd like to know what's the advantage of staking them on Ledger, instead of Kraken for example (which give 10% annual interest).

Regards!
Did you receive a reward on 9/16?

Little known fact about substrate based chains. While stake rewards have a consistent enough schedule (Polkadots is once per era, which is about 24 hours), claiming these rewards requires action, the rewards do not get automatically distributed. Every day, once the current era ends, stake rewards will become available on the validator node. These rewards sit there, unclaimed, until a claim call is made against them. Anybody can make this call, the validator, the nominators, a random person. You will incur a small transaction fee for making this call. Once the call is made, rewards are distributed to all nominators on the node.

So, say on 9/16, nobody made this call to claim rewards, they would have sat there until somebody noticed, which is what potentially happened at 8:16am on 9/17. Then the next era would have ended later this same day (9/17), and a more punctual claim call would have been made.

Thank you very much, that does make sense.
Any idea about the rewards percentage? Can I see it somewhere, or should I rather calculate it manually?

Cheers, BV1!

When you stake with Kraken they choose the validator node that your coins are delegated to (Likely their own), so they can easily display a percentage.

If you were to move your coins to your ledger and stake from there, you'd need to select the validator which you delegate to yourself from this list:
https://polkadot.js.org/apps/?rpc=wss%3A...s#/staking

You're looking for low commission and validators that aren't oversubscribed.
You can use a calculator here to calculate returns: https://www.stakingrewards.com/calculato...t=polkadot

I don't hold or stake DOT myself, so this is just info I gathered with a quick search. Someone else may be able to point you to stronger resources.
