Coinbase Dropping BCH, ETC, XLM, and XRP

Coinbase wallet just announced they are dropping wallet support for the following because of low usage: BCH, ETC, XLM, and XRP

What does this mean? It means these are all shitcoins. Ripple fans, you are idiots. BCH fans, you're done. ETC has no fans at all, not sure why it was ever on Coinbase wallet. And XLM (Stellar) looks like they're done too.

And imho, this highlights not just the strength of BTC but also LTC. Because BCH could have been the functional version of BTC with less fees. Instead an immense amount of usage is with LTC.

One day ETC is likely going to be under $1. Not sure how it's still $20 with a cap of $2.7b. Just ridiculous.
Ahhh the cleansing begins, beautiful.

ETC has a surprising amount of members in their community, no idea why.
I've even met people who ask for payment in ETC before, although it happened like twice the last 3 years I was still baffled lol

Just to add clarity, this is for Coinbase Wallet, not Coinbase. Coinbase.com will continue to support these coins.

I believe this is because Coinbase Wallet aims to be a DeFi wallet and those networks don't really have any [good] DeFi protocols, they've been stagnant in that space (maybe a possible argument can be made for ETC, I don't have knowledge of their ecosystem). No point supporting coins that are never used for DeFi in a DeFi focused wallet.

Probably has to do with the fact that they got 51% attacked Many times.

After so many attacks you go delusional.
yeah I think the opposite, only a non-crypto person would keep their coins on Coinbase.

these coins are probably where the smart money is at. aka didn't leave coins on coinbase wallet

But regardless, Bitcoin or bust for me, these centralized exchanges just keep showing how crappy they really are
I buy Amazon Gift Cards & Crypto for CashApp. PM me if you're selling

Coinbase Wallet is non-custodial ('self-custody', if you prefer), like Metamask or Trust Wallet.

Wow that's some news. LTC for the win. Its fast, low fees and supports all functions anyway. I have seen so many people asking me to accept LTC over BTC.
I will NEVER DM you first on Telegram/Discord

Always confirm you are talking with me on site using PM. Always use contract. I do not do currency exchange/gift cards/AGC.

Self-custody or not I wouldn't trust their wallet. Is it open source?

From a quick glance I'm uncertain if that's the entire application or just aspects of it.

Edit: I also would not trust Coinbase, no reason using wallets controlled by the major players, you know they're hoovering up whatever data they can. Similarly, moving away from Metamask is probably smart.
I wasn’t expecting XLM to get dropped- the rest I understand.
🚀 Signature space for sale! PM me if you’re interested.

yeah imagine using a non-custodial wallet that would just nuke the crypto you stored with them lol

if anyone uses this wallet, my advice is get out while you can, wouldn't be surprised if it goes unmaintained or worse, bugs, glitches, hacks, exploits etc start popping out.

Coinbase is the PayPal of crypto, total servant to the gov't sadly

Wouldn't be surprised if they start trying to report data on these non-custodial wallets too

1. You hold the keys, you'll never lose those coins even if they did hide them entirely from the wallet.
2. They stated that while they'll stop supporting these coins, if you hold a balance in any of them, these coins will remain visible in your wallet until you withdraw them.

Coinbase wallet is very well maintained, but is focused on DeFi. The coins delisted aren't DeFi players. This is a strategic move, not a sign of incompetence.
