Family if you ask me, always there for you, through thick and thin. Don't get me wrong, i got a best friend, kinda like my brother and my blood brother and i don't talk, so i guess everyone has their own sphere when it comes to this topic in my opinion.

Have some children and you'll see why that is not correct. Blood is always thicker. And even if it had nothing to do with kids, are you telling me your friend would motivate you more than your mom needing a surgery or on her death bed?

Family should always motivate you most subconsciously but friends can also motivate you obviously.

My family motivates me the most, yes of course my friends are helpful too but the impact that a family member's criticism or remark about my doing on me has on me no one can match. Then if we talk about motivation I'm sure that the only one who can motivate me is myself, the real challenge is always to overcome myself and improve in every aspect.

For me it's friends because I share the same hobbies with them etc. You choose your friends based on interest. You can't choose your family and a lot of times you don't have the same interests.
