What motivates you to stay positive and productive?

I'd like to hear what makes YOU stay productive/positive. As I sometimes certainly get these "lazy" moments where I don't wanna do anything just chill in bed and relax.
If you don't respect yourself, you'll stay lazy. You respect your boss when he/she tells you what to do, right? So why don't you have the same respect for yourself?

When you have a circle of people who depend on you, it's very easy to stay productive and positive. Especially if you have a child or children.

I certainly agree with what you're saying. Sadly, when you do not have that circle of people who depend on you and you live somewhat of a comfortable life, you do tend to be lazy from time to time, even though you've earned most of it yourself.

Honestly, my ADHD does the job for me-- I couldn't sit still and do nothing if my life depended on it.

Unless I smoke.

I have those lazy moments too, where I just want to relax in bed and do nothing, for me staying productive and positive comes from taking short walks and getting some fresh air. It really clears my mind and boosts my energy for the day.
IG reels motivate the fuck out of me lol
I have to provide for myself and my wife, I look at her and that's all the motivation I need when I'm feeling low or uninspired. I imagine that fire will burn even hotter once we have kids!

That's the issue, many are comfortable just where they're at and want nothing more or less. It's a waste of potential and quite selfish IMHO. We need to build generational wealth.

The motivation reels in particular? 😁
Structure, structure and structure.
That keeps me productive.
Without habits and plans I would just hang around in my PJ's all day, watching telly and drink booze.

What motivates me is not being stuck in the same dead end routine. I see people like this a lot and their miserable about life.

Coding's my passion, you know? When I feel that laziness creeping in, I dive into a coding project or check out Hackforums.

You make a valid point. Respecting oneself and having a sense of responsibility can indeed boost productivity and positivity, especially when there are dependents involved.

TLDR: It's greed for money and thirst for knowledge for me.

I was interested in computers since I was little, unfortunately my interest was more into useless stuff like video games and less into actual nerdy stuff like learning how things work. I try to switch my approach now and here I am, trying to fit in but I fit like a fist to the nose, as one person once told me. Still, I like to stick to my plans so you probably have to brace yourselves for me being here for a longer time.

I'm 31 and unlike most people my age I have no family of my own so I have to do some mental gymnastics to stay motivated. Mostly I go the route of pure greed, I'm a greedy mf and not ashamed of it lol. In all seriousness, I like money, have been reading Mr Money Moustache blog for quite some time now, I hope to one day be rich enough to retire with my own savings. But I understand that going only the greedy route without love for your craft is going to burn you out fast, so I also try to love what I do.

I'm too old for sleepless nights at my computer, I had some problems in my life and now balanced mind is everything for me, so I try to stick to my day plan. I believe sticking to your plans is like 80% of success. I have a steady job so I guess you could call me successful, in a way, but I want MOAR, if you know what I'm talking about. I don't want to hurt people through hacking, but I want to be able to hack, maybe make a career out of it. I guess I'll let you know once I get there. See you in like a few years!
This is a very inspiring comment to me personally, you sound like a great human. Love reading things like this.
