remove [group] prefix if user is removed from group for their sales threads

I agree. I definitely think that a user shouldn't have the group prefix if they're no longer in the group.

I fully support this idea. No reason for them to have access to it when they're no longer a part of the group.
100% support this. I'd say for all sections of the forum as well, not just the marketplace.
Kicked/banned members from any group shouldn't be able to use that group prefix anymore.

I remember years ago before actual built-in group prefixes, it was super popular to just put [GROUP NAME] at the start of the title as the prefix and I remember having to often PM members of a group I was leading at the time to remove the group prefix from their thread as they were no longer in the group and they would almost never remove it on their on for obvious reason, especially if it was a marketplace thread.

Good idea Lavish Living

Its an awesome suggestion as long as it can be automated. If it cant be automated, then it'll just be a hassle for staff.

I support this if it will be automated.

sounds really good, hopefully it can be automated properly
To be honest, I don't really agree fully. I think if they made a thread for the group, it should stay as a record of group sales' activity. If it's condoned by group, it should remain visible. Maybe the threads should be closed when they leave instead?
I kinda like there is a consequence for groups not properly vetting their members.
Currently that's not how MyBB Thread Prefixes function.

Thread Prefixes are attached to the thread in the database at the time of posting. It stays with the thread. Once the member is removed from the group they can't create new threads with the Prefix.

I have mixed feelings about making a change to this. First, not sure it's worth the hassle of coding it. Second, I'm not sure I actually want it to be different. Maybe this will force Group Owners to be more discerning about who they let into their group. Third, I think there may be just as many Prefixes you'd want to stay on a thread after a member leaves as once you want to remove. Example is a great tutorial thread.

I could consider a tool for Group Owners on their GroupCP to enter a TID (Thread ID) to remove their groups Prefix. I think that makes more sense. If a thread is a problem for the owner, they can correct it themselves. How does that sound as a potential solution?

Legends currently has one I wouldn't mind removing.

Oh, I didn't think of that. I wouldn't use a prefix unless it was an official group thread, so wasn't thinking about the kids out here only using groups for thread exposure.

Can you elaborate what happens to a prefix once a group changes hands, I assume prefixes change to whatever the new group becomes. Is that correct?

Guess it probably depends if the Prefix is deleted & a new one is created or if it is edited. Most likely it's like a column thread prefix ID, which corresponds to a prefix table, which has the rel ID to a group, etc.
A function in the group CP sounds like the way forward!
