I was having a discussion with someone about eating healthy and they felt so strongly that organic food prolongs life. I feel like organic produce is just a way for them to sell you groceries for more money. Buzz words like cage free etc cost an extra couple of dollars. What do you guys think?
Organic just a way to charge more? |

Unless you plant your seeds (seeds that you know are at least 20,30+ years old), fertilize them with organic fertilizers and grow them in your own garden, you can't be sure if the thing you are buying is really organic. The guys who monetize that word know how to avoid bumps and curves around tests and inspections.
But your friend is right, organic is really a healthier way of living; buying at the farmers market, if possible growing some of your own, avoiding supermarket meat etc etc. Just being conscious about your food. Here is something from my garden this summer, can't even compare these tomatoes with store-bought..
It's all BS, I bet you whatever it is grown in the same place with just a organic sticker put on it at the end.
My toddler has loved bananas since when he first started eating solid foods.
We have found organic bananas last longer, and don't bruise as easy. But that is the only instance that I have found of organic actually being better. Bananas so far are the only thing I buy organic. We used to get home raised eggs, until we had a very bad experience with that.
Marketing scheme. You don't need to spend a fortune to eat healthy, just educate yourself and have some discipline!

One of the biggests scams out there. They're basically charging us more for the quality of food that we ought to be getting by default
