Base64 Code - can anyone tell me?

I have received a Base64 code that looks like this:

The code is 5 million characters long! Can that be correct or did I make a mistake? What can I do with this code now, and can I calculate the password from the file?"

I hope this helps!

That isn't Base64.

Thanks for the very quick answer! Can you tell me how to find out the BASE64 code from a file?

I used this command:
certutil -encode "C:\path\to\file.dat" -

But I thought that would be too easy, can you help me and give me a tip? Thanks!

Yup, that will encode the data file in Base64. Since Base64 is an encoding algorithm and not a hashing algorithm, it returns the entire file in encoded form. The following command will use SHA256 and return a much shorter 256-bit hash.

Code
certUtil -hashfile C:\path\to\file.dat SHA256

🤦‍♂️

Ok, I don't understand anything right now 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 but I don't know much either!

I need to restore my wallet.dat file because I no longer know my password and yes, it is my own wallet.dat file and not one you can find elsewhere.

What is the best way to proceed if I can get the pass phase again? I read an article that says you can find out the password using the Base64 code, but I have no idea!

Please and thank you for the help!

Oh, gosh, you should have started with that. It's okay, though, because I'm happy to explain. The article you read was junk and possibly a scam. Bitcoin wallets do not use Base64. Base64 is an encoding method that is easily reversible. Bitcoin Core uses AES-256 encryption using a password as the encryption key. In order to crack the password, you should upload your file here to get a hash of the encrypted data. Password cracking comes down to trying to reproduce the hash by iterating over a dictionary file or through brute force.

Sorry, that's right, I should have started with that🙈🙈

But I understand what you're saying, I'm not good but I'm not stupid😅😅

Explained very simply for me, tell me if I'm in the right place because I have a hash from JohnTheRipper and with this hash I can start trying to find out the password🤔🤔

Do I understand this in the right manner!

That can crack the password.
