Immortal Flames (Two Poems)

In the tapestry of life, memories weave,
Boundless treasures that our hearts perceive.
With friends and family, we create a dance,
Moments immortal, in every glance.

Through laughter and tears, joys and strife,
We etch our stories, the essence of life.
In the album of time, each page a delight,
Memories glowing, forever bright.

Through days of sunshine and nights of rain,
Our bonds endure, an unbreakable chain.
For in the echoes of laughter, and in tears shed,
Lie the echoes of love, never to be dead.

Though time may pass, and seasons change,
Memories linger, never to estrange.
For in the heart's chamber, they forever reside,
A flame that flickers, never to be denied.

So let us cherish, each moment's grace,
Embrace the memories, in every embrace.
For as long as we remember, our souls remain,
Immortal in love's eternal refrain.

-

In the whispers of the wind and the stars' gentle glow,
Our spirits linger, in memories aglow.
Though we depart from this earthly plane,
Our essence lives on, in the heart's refrain.

Through the corridors of time, we journey afar,
Yet our presence endures, like a guiding star.
In the laughter shared and the tears we shed,
Our souls intertwine, never to be dead.

For memories are the threads that bind,
A tapestry of love, in the fabric of the mind.
They transcend the bounds of mortal frame,
Echoing eternity, in love's timeless flame.

So fear not the passage of time's relentless tide,
For in memories' embrace, we forever reside.
Though we may fade like the setting sun's glow,
Our essence remains, in the memories we bestow.

These poems were a reminder to myself of something my brother once said after we got absolutely trashed by a bottle of rum and a couple bong hits. "We never die so long as we are remembered."

Don't let the flame die,
Serpy

Yes, these are poems that were written in the first week of his death. I had a lot of time because I was in the hospital getting treated for a tumor under my left kidney. I was there for a while so I made it a goal to write a poem every day.
