PROTECT YOUR EYES
Putting out a quick public safety announcement, please for the love of god read this and protect your eyes. You only get 2.

Looking directly at the Solar Eclipse without any safety glasses can cause permanent eye damage, and even blindness.

Why does it cause damage to your eyes?
Basically whenever you look at the sun in general you squint, look away, and your pupils adjust in size to protect your eyes. With the eclipse you're staring directly at the sun without any of your instinctive protection in place. Without the proper safety glasses you can damage your retina, arguably the most important part of your eye and vision.

Safety Glasses for the Eclipse
You need to make sure on the side of your glasses you can see ISO 12312-2, it is the only approved version of the Safety Glasses that will not harm your eyes. Be very careful who you buy these glasses from, there are some companies that sell these with fake approved ISO 12312-2 stickers on the side of them. Below is a link to approved vendors that sell these glasses, because without proper testing equipment you can't tell if they're real or fake.

Haha...no problem. Many thanks for the PSA.

[Absence]

I felt like the cool guy by buying a pack of glasses and giving them out this year, hope I do not forget to go look at the sun when it is time, lol.

I also got a secret way for me to get discounts, comes in super handy for things like this.

[Toscan]

Na I got my binoculars ready to go. I ain't no beach. 🤣

[DashPHP]

Always out here lookin out for the community. Big up Komodo!

[IllIIlIIIllIlI]

just wait till you hear about sun-gazing

[Eran]

Great topic choice, definitely not something I was expecting to see! Great content as always, gg

[Rionxee]

Thanks for posting that, a lot of people think they can still stare at a solar eclipse. I took a road trip to Nashville to see the last eclipse and even recording it with my phone burnt the camera sensor. This year I'm ready with a solar filter for my phone camera so I don't make that mistake again.

Happy Eclipse everyone.

[Deany]

But I thought looking at it will give me super powers

[Yin Yang]

Thanks for sharing. I’ll be catching a stream on it

I'm Stanley HF's helper bot. The OP (original poster) of this thread wants everyone to see this page and has elected to bump it to the top of the showthread listing. Since HF doesn't want a ton of LQP (Low Quality Posts) this is the best method of bumping your content. There is a small βyte fee for each bump. Any OP can bump any of their threads on HF from the linked icon on the top of their first post.

If you haven't already read the first post of this thread we encourage you to do so.

Thanks,
