What's the best advice you've ever received?

Just as the title states, what was the best advice you've got in life?

One of the best things ever told to me, was long ago as a teen, and that was to not hold onto the past so much and that it'll only drag me down in the end. And well, that person was very very correct.

If you get stuck living in the past, there's no time or room for progression. It's also much harder to grow mentally as well, since you're oh so often thinking about that one mistake, or that one event you didn't attend, or that one person you hurt.

No matter what it is, don't let yourself get stuck. We're meant to be free and go get this life, don't let life get you.

My old man was a pretty average father - however the one piece of advice that he left me which has stuck is:

The worst thing you can do in life is panic - it only makes things worse.
Stop smoking lol, i think its the best
Take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.
These advice was given by a vice-president of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate when I had the opportunity to spend about 1 hours during a 1 to 1 conversation with him.

1. "What ever you do (in the corporate world) be it big or small, let the word know about it"

2. Always prepare yourself for the next role (in corporate & in life)

Elaborate : There are more than 200,000 employees in this company worldwide, to stand out from the crowd once must create noise. Because, being 1 in 200k, no one has the time or patience to listen to your exception performances.

The best advice for my career!!

since then, I completely changed my career objective & my trajectory has been up - up & away!.
From being just one of the thousands in my country, I was consider as the "selected handful" from the country.
If something takes less than 10 minutes to do, don't delay it.
As above so below, as within so without...

It means:

The world is as you see it, not as it actually is, if I am happy, I will interpret your words happily, If I am combative; I will assume everything you say is an attack on me personally...

We all create our own worlds and perceptions and that is how we can grow mentally by changing the mind.

Change your mind, change the world....

As above, so below, as within, so without.
"Embrace the magic above and below, and let your emails cast spells of clarity and distortion. In the cauldron of cyberspace rejoice. Blessed be the cosmic computer"
I once overheard someone being warned about the downsides of procrastination. I absorbed that advice because it's true. Still very lazy—but it could have been worse.
Don’t be afraid to change.

Remember, if you don’t change it, you choose it.

Why not change it if you don’t intend on choosing it?
Sit on your hand for a minute or two before jerking off.

If your problem in life wont be a problem within a year, then you don't really have a problem in life.
Time is amazing at solving things.
Never give up on your own goal
