This is false. Your messages still stay and all your media too. Hell knowing how much of a sell out the ceo is he probably still stores account logs. You stupid little sheeple. 🤣

ideally you just don't leave a trace at all

you can delete your account but as far as i know your messages will still be there

you could delete all of your messages for both people, but your metadata has already been collected

it's best not to treat it like an ultimatum for privacy and to treat it more like you would any other messaging software, although it definitely feels like that defeats the purpose... i have messages auto delete after 24 hours but i won't act like that would save me from federal persecution if i were hypothetically committing crimes, i just do it for the privacy of myself within my relationships with others

i do recommend matrix on the other hand though
