I've seen enough from reviews that I don't need to watch it. It is horrible what they did with the sequel. I had a pretty unpopular opinion that the first one was shit. I couldn't stand that the movie was a giant build up for everything to happen in 3 minutes and it be over. That being said I was really hopeful for the sequel as I thought it would jump straight into the action.

Yea, I can see how people would say "All that build up? That's it?" I can agree with that. This one's not worth watching at all. Even if you like Joaquin Phoenix, it's just not worth it. I'd rather watch him as Napoleon or a Roman Emperor again or just ANY role 😆

Yeah that was a weird choice in my opinion. Wouldn't have picked her. I figured they did because they thought she could help sell the movie. Totally flopped instead lol. I won't lie I did enjoy the first movie but I get why a bunch of people didn't.

The wildest part to me is that I was listening to Quentin Tarantino on Joe Rogan the other day and Quentin loved Joker 2.
It really has left me wondering if he was trolling or truly being honest. Personally Tarantino is one of my all time favorite directors.

Eh, I have kind of a conspiracy brain when it comes to this stuff. Also, Quentin is a bit of a libtard, so I don't take what he says at face value:
[puts on tinfoil hat]
The people that resonated with Joker on an IRL personal level felt empowered, especially leading up to the 2020 election + COVID. How do you spit on those people? By neutering their subconscious "hero" in the sequel that removes the rebellious revolution spark that the first movie gave them. I believe this was orchestrated as a counter-attack to those specific people.
Tbh, I really liked Lady Gaga's acting skills; I thought it was impressive. And, yes, the movie was a musical (I really dislike musicals), but, I watched it without getting bored; it just felt very fluid. Joaquin Phoenix demonstrated his prowess in acting again; I think, without him, the sequel could have flopped. I do think the first movie was better, but, the second one was also okay in my book. That's the beauty of art, we don't have to like or dislike the same things. When people created drama about how bad Joker 2 was, I believed them, but, after watching it for myself, I actually quite enjoyed it. To each their own, I guess.
