Borderlands 4 Makes CEO "A Little Nervous" Due To The Game's Challenging Sections
Borderlands 4 makes Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford "a little nervous" because some parts of the game are "more challenging" than players might be expecting. Speaking to Insider Gaming, Pitchford said there are many Borderlands players who aren't looking for much challenge out of their experience, and parts of the game might test them like the franchise has not before."We have lots of players that actually aren't interested in deep, hard challenges; lots of people that love just exploring the Borderlands or spending time with the characters," Pitchford said. "I'm a little nervous because there are points of Borderlands 4 that are more challenging."The executive went on to say that if any players are struggling, they can "just grind somewhere" and level up their character to become more powerful to help them get past where they are stuck.Continue Reading at GameSpot

I'm incredibly excited for Borderlands 4. Definitely one of my most anticipated games for this year, hell maybe even my most anticipated. Mind you, I'm a huge fan of the series and since the first game. Anyway, assuming he's talking about points in the story and not like end game content which it seems he is since he mentions being able to grind to level up and then have that challenge be easier, I don't see it differing much from previous Borderlands games. Depending on what level you are and what gear you have, there are naturally points in all of those games where things may be a bit too difficult. It's pretty standard across a lot of games in general of course. Just as he said you could do for Borderlands 4 though, you could always just go and do some side quests, farm XP from killing enemies, etc in order to level up and put yourself at more of a balanced spot for the next part of the story or piece of content you're trying to tackle.
It's interesting that he's "nervous" about the difficulty. You'd think a little challenge would be a good thing, right? I'm all for it. A bit of a grind never hurt anyone.
Well after playing through the entire game and also seeing that there is for the first time ever in Borderlands different difficulty options including an "easy" option, I all the more don't understand what there was to be nervous about. I will say that given the new movement tech the game has versus past borderlands and in turn mechanics utilizing such in certain boss fights, it provides a different kind of difficulty we haven't had before. However, I wouldn't say it's anything crazy. You pick up on it all pretty quickly and by the time you get to these fights you're pretty used to the mechanics. Plus, again, there is an "easy" difficulty so you're not nearly as punished if you aren't that on point with figuring out and playing into the mechanics.
Sounds like Borderlands 4 is leaning into skill-based sections more than previous entries. It could split players between those seeking challenge and those just exploring the world.
This game should of never been released, even with the best computer on earth you can't run this game unless you enable frame gen. Most dogshit unoptimised trash I've ever witnessed.
I got the game for free with a purchase, don't think I uninstalled something so fast.

It generates additional frames between real frames.
It makes the game and look more smoother.
I really want to play borderlands 4, haven't played borderlands for so many years.. I want to see what they've done

Hmm, was this an issue for everyone? I've played it but didn't really see any massive 'frame lags'

It depends on the resolution you play at. I assume you're on 1080p, if not, you might not mind playing at a lower FPS. For someone like me with a high refresh rate monitor, I need as many frames as possible to match the refresh rate.
With all the settings on low I can't even play the game at 60 FPS, I need over 140 FPS to have a smooth experience. It really depends on the individual and their setup, I have a 165hz monitor and cap at 157. If I can't get my FPS close to 157 it's just a bad time.

Depends on the person, equipment, etc.
I am pretty used to playing with lower graphics and lower FPS so I tend not to notice these things much.
I never got into Borderlands due to the graphics. It looked fun. It seems like every time a borderlands comes out there's a bunch of hype then the game dies out pretty quickly.
