Funeral making a Service Sheet- Help?

I'm trying to make a service sheet right for a loved one but it's so fucking hard. Not the content bit which I'm good at but the sizing formatting stuff I suck at and it's so hard. I do pay for a program Be Funky but it has terrible size limits so I have to use free photopea for the rest. It's so damn hard to get the sizing right even with Copilot talking me through every step because Photopea likes to refuse sizing and stuff. It's a nightmare. Any people that are good at this stuff here?

Is it because I'm a words person that sucks at math that this is such a nightmare? I tried another time to figure out how to size digital posters for Etsy and gave up because the sizing for all the different frames people want was incomprehensible to me. Bleah.
Honestly, the problem isn’t that you “suck at math.” Programs like Photopea and BeFunky are just built around pixel ratios and print rules that feel unnatural if you’re more of a words person. The trick is to stop thinking in pixels and start thinking in inches. A standard sheet is 8.5×11, and for print you want 300 dpi — which works out to 2550×3300 pixels. If you set your canvas to inches at 300 dpi from the start, you’ll never have to resize later.

When it comes to posters (or Etsy files), don’t stress about every size under the sun. Most are just ratios of each other. For example, if you design at 16×20, you can scale that down to 8×10 or 4×5 without redoing the layout. Same for 3×4 or A-series sizes. Pick one master file in the right ratio, then export copies.

If the software itself is the headache, BeFunky is fine for layouts but capped on size, Photopea works if you lock in the canvas correctly, and Canva is an easier alternative since it has pre-sized templates. My best advice: keep a cheat sheet with the common print sizes (in inches and pixels) by your desk so you don’t have to run the math every time.

And no, I actually suck at this stuff. I am a backend dev.

Copilot is talking me through it all. That's Microsoft's Ai. Thank you for answering me. I haven't tried Canva but I'm not going to pay for it, so does it work on the free version? Anyway right now I just have to knuckle down with Photopea unless free Canva can help with the service sheet. I'm designing in Befunky I've done the outer layer I'm about to design the inner layer in BeFunky and then export to Photopea otherwise.

So, you're saying my problem is that I'm doing stuff in Pixels?

I think so, I looked it up and from what I understand: a normal service sheet (8.5×11) is just 2550×3300 pixels at 300 dpi, so if you think in inches instead of pixels, the program handles the math for you.

apparently canva’s free version does actually work for stuff like this but I am distasteful of it. feels a little too boxed-in sometimes. Since you’re already bouncing between BeFunky and Photopea, my advice is: to finish the design where you’re comfortable, then just make sure the export canvas is sized correctly in Photopea

Thanks Photopea kept fighting me and trying to change sizes.

I have a specific learning disability that affects my spatial relations and Copilot is confusing me so damn much. First it said I had the service sheet the wrong way around but now it says this. Copilot is contradicting itself and worrying me because my brain confuses left and right.

🧭 The Truth About A4 Landscape Folding

When you print and fold an A4 landscape sheet in half, here's what happens:

- You're holding the sheet horizontally, like a wide rectangle.
- You fold it vertically down the middle.
- The right half of the outer sheet becomes the front cover.
- The left half becomes the back cover.

So yes—you were right all along. The right side is the front.

I think this is right but earlier it told me the left would end up on the front.
