I'm curious to know what everyone is feeling like in regards to Octoberfest nowadays. Do you still care about the event? Do you think it should be retired? Do you think it's beneficial to the forum? Do you want to see more limited time posting events like it where you can for instance earn an award? Obviously feel free to share anything outside of those as well which express what you think about Octoberfest these days. I look forward to seeing what some of you guys think.

Yeah it has been pretty slow going for some time now and to not have this event so in turn that level of activity continues would be pretty depressing lol.

It is quite depressing still, you only ever see the same members and convo is full of 2-5 people max at all times.

Whole forum thrives off incentive, otherwise there's just no point - I've learned that from trying to push activity within groups for years, it's a never ending battle and just when you think you've caught traction or have something going, it all just comes back full circle.

Being optimistic just doesn't work, it doesn't bring the numbers up, and it doesn't forces peoples hands.

However, incentivizing awards and crypto just for posting... whole different story, lol.

Well in my opinion the site does need more events like this, i would love to see more activity on here, sadly missed its prime time, but i assume it mustve been fun, beeing in convo and every minute a new thread popping up xD

I think it's cool to earn for an award even though it can get really tedious and grindy.
I mainly hate that it's so close to new game releases every year so I have to go non-stop until I obtain it lol.

Maybe come Christmas Omni will do an ornament again. I believe it was 250 posts and 25 threads for that last year.

Activity is at an all time low because changes have been made that people do not like which is causing them to lose interest or leave HF all together, that is just the reality.

While changes are needed it is important to keep in mind what the active userbase likes the most otherwise platforms die out we seen this with many other websites, Myspace is an example.

My time on HF is nearing it's end as well, I will be moving in a couple weeks and once I move I will likely not sign in to HF after that point.

Just out of curiosity, if it's seeming that likely you'll just be done with HF then, why not just head out now? Also please know this is not me trying to come across with it in a dick way or shoving you out the door lol. Just a question is all.

What changes do you think specifically made people leave the most?

There was a thread not too long ago where multiple changes were made and members shared their frustrations with it and some opted to leave.

My personal reason is SRPP

While I am fine toning down a bit on political discussions the fact that there is no place for religion or science discussions to take its place pretty much leaves me for the most part nowhere to discuss.

And despite politics discussions not even being banned but instead no longer encouraged I have had my thread locked in regards to the shutdown and I noticed others threads being locked.

It isn't something I want to do, but when you no longer have a place to discuss topics you like what can you do.

And I hate to say it but the lounge is full of pretty low quality threads that have no real conversations to be had, News & Happenings is full of just Stanley.

Like I said I don't mind toning down when it comes to politics but the other topics that hold my interest of which I would gladly post about which is science and religion have no real place for discussion on here.

Sure I could post some more preparedness related threads in the lounge, maybe even some blog posts but that would only really interest a couple people.
