I was speaking in Convos earlier and Cooligan and I were entertaining some random ideas that could help spread out some more posts to other sections on the forum.  I figured, why not repurpose some of the old awards for other sections of the site as well? 

Example, we already have the Lounge Head award, but why not repurpose something like the Gamer award for posts in gaming sections?
Or add a new Graphics award or repurpose one of either the GFX Master or GFX Guru awards for the graphics section?

Just a thought, they would go well with the https://hackforums.net/awardgoals.php in my opinion.

We alreadt have seen the Businessman and Bronze Tutorial awards be repurposed for Marketers and the Hacking section. We have the Lounge Head. Wouldn't need one for the Money/Crypto sections or Groups and Crew section.

I just want to see a surge of activity in gaming and GFX and I'm sure it would not be only healthy for the site, but also a nice morale boost to members who frequent other sections.

I'm pitching the idea of converting existing ones to Award Goals to try bringing activity to otherwise inactive sections.

I fully support this idea, very incentivising to the sub-forums and member quality. Figuratively speaking more needles in the haystack would be a great way to achieve goal awards and good for boosting member morale too. I love the awards page that keeps growing, highly appreciative. Thanks for making the thread Sky .

I actually really like this idea. I found that when I was going for Lounge Head I was more active than I had ever been and I looked forward to getting on and posting. Well you wouldn't need one for the Marketplace since there is the Businessman award already. The Hacking Tab already has the Bronze Tutorial award. The Lounge already has the Lounge Head, wouldn't need anything for Groups and Crews Discussion or the Money Tab/Crypto or because there are already Donation/Crypto awards. Really, Gaming and Graphics would be a nice touch. You could even through in more than 1 task that must be finished to obtain the awards. Such as getting the GFX award would require 5 GFX Tutorials (no deadline) AND XXX amount of posts in a certain amount of time or something.

awards are meant to be prestigious, they should be hard to get in my opinion. I am interested in the idea of earning them but not easily by just posting in a section to get your numbers up

We are way past that point.  There are prestigious awards, but we have already gotten to a point where there are so many people with so many awards.  I see no problem with having 2-3 more section based award goals to influence activity in sections with dwindling activity.  I'm not saying it HAS to be exactly the way I mentioned.  I'm just opening the door for discussion on how to encourage members to post in places other than strictly the Lounge or Marketplace.

Edit: Also, Award Goals is going to inevitably expand. Why not add to it AND make something unique, like 2 tasks required (1 monthly and 1 annual) to complete 1 award goal. Expands the activity, repurposes or creates a couple of awards, adds to Award Goals. I don't see much downside.

You go on to throw some other dude under the bus.
(Poor Cooligan gonna catch a ban for just being near you)

You go on to suggest multiple awards for gamers and GFX niche
(this pretty much nullifies any feelings I have for you when staff bans you for doing something you clearly knew was not allowed)

You then argue with a bunch of people telling you half decent advice on not suggesting awards because it's a rule for a reason.
(You'll be seriously lucky if all you get is "it's fine the way it is" and closed thread. )

Im not suggesting new awards.  I'm suggesting new award goals and current awards altered.  Businessman award was changed as well as the Bronze Tutorial award.  And I read the Help Docs concerning awards.  It's incredibly outdated.  Especially the line about "people having 10 or more awards."
And as far as making a thread suggesting award changes it says to NOT make a thread about adding an award.  Which is NOT what Im doing.

Im spitballing ideas to try seeing more activity forum-wide instead of just the Lounge and Marketplace. That's also part of why I say "discuss" so we could potentially find something that could be beneficial for the site and its members.

And I'm not arguing with anyone.  It's a discussion, not sure why you would imply there's been hostility in the thread. But you can take the time to read the Help Docs yourself and tell me where it says you can't suggest Award Goals. Maybe I missed something that isn't there.
