If you have seen my other threads from yesterday, you will know that I buy in for predicted ranges rather than specific prices and dates.
For example, I do not attempt to time the bottom, or time the perfect selling price at the top.
I keep cash in reserve, and keep assets in the markets towards the top, but I always have a plan to buy or sell as things move up & down.
For example, I bought in yesterday but kept some cash out of the market in case it dropped further.
This isn't 100% efficient for maximized profits - I could have lump summed in. However, this wouldn't be good if it the markets did drop and i had less cash to buy in at the lower support line.
Similarly, if assets hit a high target, I usually have a RANGE that I am willing to sell at. This means i might not maximize profits if i start selling early, but I can also avoid the risks of trying to time the top... For example if I sell "early" in one cycle, then in another cycle I may actually sell at the high and avoid a crash. My point is that it's not realistic to time the bottom or top perfectly, and too many people attempt to. I do not attempt to. I purposefully am willing to buy too early or sell to early, or too late in any scenario, depending on current TA and long-term TA. It's a range, or what I call a "channel".
For example, I put the BTC channel high at 380-430K or so for the next major cycle.
What this means is that I will look for times to sell as we approach 380, and I won't care if it goes to 430.
Similarly, if I see a support line at 70-90k channel, I will start buying more as it approaches 90k and below rather than trying to time the bottom perfectly, and possibly missing it.
This strat works for me.
My other rule: Don't invest or bet what you cannot lose. If I lost 100% of my buys yesterday it wouldn't affect my life. This allows me to not care if the markets tank 50% on Monday or not. Long term investing wins.
This is isolated to only yesterday's buys:

- % on the right side is realized returns. I took a hit on fees/set values here, putting me at a few % loss on each to start yesterday. Never nice to look at (all buys are at a loss upfront on some platforms), but if not taken upfront, there are always fees taken elsewhere.
Obviously my best tip from yesterday was MNT/Mantle. The rest are seeing normal recovery rates based on BTC/ETH, whereas the MNT pump is pulling away. The reason I chose MNT as a buy yesterday was because it had already shown this strength.
When an alt coin breaks away from trends, watch closely. For example, MNT pumped to the $2.5+ range pretty quickly in the past weeks. So, when crypto took a hit this weekend, MNT did tank hard, but it technically didn't lose much of the value it had before it's mini bull run. When an asset goes on a bull run and then pulls back because of overall market sentiment, there is always a good chance that it recovers quicker than others. This is what we see today. I am always looking for the gems like Mantle, but they are not always so easy to find.
I don't know much about MNT overall - admittedly - but the TA was very clear to me. $1.5-1.7 felt like a good buy, but I couldn't risk waiting for 1.5. I bought in at 1.7 and saw drops to 1.5-6 range. Now we see the pump. It doesn't always work out like this, and I am not boasting or anything. I just hope that if people read my thoughts on how I invest, they may be able to replicate.
Don't time the market. Spend time in the market instead. Know the difference! Buy & sell ranges. Don't try to be a hero.
