U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas

Israel/hamas ceasefire; 10/15/2025:

The ceasefire continues to hold, though tensions remain high. Overnight, Hamas handed over four more bodies of deceased Israeli hostages. However, Israel confirmed one of those bodies did not belong to a hostage, prompting new friction over the terms of the deal.

Hostage & Prisoner Exchange:
As part of the Trump-led agreement, all 20 surviving Israeli hostages have been freed, and around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange. Israel is still awaiting the return of 28 remaining bodies of deceased hostages. Hamas claims some are in areas destroyed during fighting, complicating recovery efforts.

Aid and Humanitarian Access:
Aid trucks resumed entering Gaza through the Rafah crossing after a brief suspension tied to disputes over the hostage remains. Israel says 600 aid trucks per day are scheduled, though currently only half that number are being approved. The Red Cross and UN report worsening conditions: famine-level hunger, acute medical shortages, and nearly total displacement of Gaza’s 2.1 million people.

Ongoing Violence and Crackdowns:
Despite the ceasefire, scattered Israeli strikes and Hamas crackdowns on rival militant groups have continued in Gaza. Hamas forces have executed alleged collaborators and reasserted control across areas once contested by local clans.

Diplomatic Landscape:
President Trump announced this week that the U.S. will move to disarm Hamas “by force” if the group does not comply voluntarily. The second phase of the Gaza peace plan, focused on disarmament and reconstruction, is expected to be negotiated in Cairo next week.

Key Points Recap:
  • Ceasefire intact but fragile

  • Hamas returned four bodies; one misidentified

  • Aid entering Gaza again — 300 of 600 planned trucks approved

  • Famine and displacement persist

  • Trump threatens Hamas with forced disarmament

I hope to stop the war and stop the bloodshed there.
I am happy for the ceasefire, hopefully it result in long lasting peace and the end of the genocide, but Hamas cannot have any control and they cannot have weapons under any circumstances.

The cause of all of this is Hamas, they did Oct 7th not Israel, yes Israel went extremely too far and committed genocide but Hamas is currently killing people in Gaza right now they are infatuated with violence.

Hamas better accept the agreement, no control over Gaza and no weapons because honestly they don't even deserve to live so they can be glad they got options to begin with.

300k people and billions of dollars were wasted before people came to consensus. And to think this started with stupid terror organization messing with money hungry jerks just double burns. Glad it is coming to an end tho✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿
I'm glad the bloodshed stopped and hopefully both sides can finally find everlasting peace ✌🏽
